I would like to get into building my own planes. How do you go about sourcing your blanks? I have no idea how to get quarter sawn blanks that are thick enough in almost any species, much less beach. My mill doesn't have any (unless I ordered a truckload and was prepared to wait for kiln) and I am not in a position to mill my own and dry it. Am I missing something? Thanks ahead! Also, amazing videos!!

From Router planes to Shoulder vises, I commend your work. Thank you for sharing your skills, Stavros. I enjoy your confidence when you stamp your maker's marks before you complete the project!

All of your plane are awesome. Only one comment related to the anatomical orientation of wood. If you take a look to the old British plane Made out of beech you will notice that they are oriented in radial direction instead of tangential. This is to avoid the Natural swell and shrinkage due to rh and temperature change over a year. Resulting in a stable sole.

A great tool, and well built! Have you considered making a smaller version of this plane and using O-1 steel for the iron? Thanks.

Sometimes i ask myself why i make a wedge? Two fitting wedges perfectly hold the knife.😄 Stavros i see that you, too are pushing a chisel with a chin? Stavros watching you work is pleasure !
