I really hope he's shown in the new season When lucifer is going to die and is shown drowning as a way to imply how angels die and suddenly hears a piano and a subtle voice "I don't think it's your time yet Lucy.. You got a lot more people to annoy"

God, you´re right. I saw this episode just today and the same thought came to my mind. They have great chemistry and the father could´ve been a great mentor for Lucifer. His death and Lucifer´s reaction killed me. Lucifer really felt he´d found a very good friend in Frank.

He could have really added to Lucifer's character development. Hopefully they do bring him back as someone to help Lucifer in his times of doubt or need.

So the Devil meets a priest, and finds to his surprise he's actually a good and honest man, the priest meets the devil and finds out he's just as human as everyone else and needs a little direction in life. They then have a jam session on the piano.

@@vinayakojha5100 yes, this line is double entendre. Lucifer uses the word "soul" as in "soul music" and the fact that Lucifer's job in the Bible is to torture wicked souls. It also is praise as people who aren't well versed in music or play boring music are said to have no soul. Edit: at the end of this episode, Luci and Chloe play a common duet used by music teachers to teach the basics and the name of it is "Heart and Soul." Some writers are very clever and it shows here. 😂

Deathless Cat I found it: priest walks into a bar and sees the devil playing the piano asks “ what are you doing here?” Devil says “ bearing my soul” priest asks “ may I join you?” Devil responds “ only if you are sinfully good.”

Once the devil saw the priest playing piano. The devil asked "how did you learned that?" the priest answered "my father bought it when i was a child. I was playing it at local church." the devil said "yeah while your father is being good, my father kicked me out of his home and you still praying to him. You don't see me praying to your father and he doesn't kicked you from his home"

Nobody realized that the song the priest played in the beginning is the same song Lucifer played after his death and before chloe did a duet with him

I like how Lucifer criticizes Father Frank for playing Knocking on Heaven's Door, but after what happens to him, Lucifer is saddened by the loss of his friend and plays it in memory of him. Damn good tv series.

Not just that, Knocking on Heavens door playing symbolizes Lucifer’s journey to forgiveness and redemption. He found one of the best parts of humanity in this scene, a friend.

It's sad to think Lucifer played the song he originally didnt like in memory of Frank at the end of the episode

Coming here after seeing season 6 episode 9 where on Lucifer's little table was written "check in on Father Frank". I really enjoyed that little thing.

I don't know what Season 4 will bring, but from the first three seasons, this was the BEST scene.

LOVE this show Everything about it, the music, the faces, the romances, the cases, the drama, his nickname for Chloe and especially the comedy

It broke my heart when Lucifer played Knocking on Heaven's door alone towards the end of this episode...

Besides many other symbolisms and allegory’s in this episode, the fact that Lucifer is having actual fun with the father and experiencing joy for the first time probably, is the most wholesome thing to see.

Once you've watched the entire episode, then come back to this scene, hearing Frank playing _"Knocking on Heaven's Door"_ hits you differently!

If this isn't world peace I don't know what is. I miss Father Frank so much.

Chloe smiles when she see both frank and lucifer enjoying is some of the best clips of the whole series❤️

I love this show. And I adored how ANGRY Lucifer got when frank was killed. I mean he really took that death, a death of a stranger and a mortal servant of the father he “hates” really hard. Makes your think of in this version of the story if Lucifer’s rebellion was less “death to God! And more “fuck you dad

A) lucifer doesn't hate his dad. This entire series is lucifer trying to prove himself worthy of his dad's attention affection and approval. B) Father Frank wasn't just a stranger. He was an instant friend, something that doesn't happen to often to Lucifer.

@@sersastark if I could offer my thoughts 😊. Father frank was like him. Yes he followed the lord but he wasn’t a full life purist. He had a past and wanted to push himself to be better. Something lucifer always wanted to do but didn’t know how. The priest is all about guiding and forgiving of sins and helping people. Later towards the end when Chloe knows who lucifer is and he can’t lose his devil face. She asks him to forgive himself and he said “I don’t know how to@ I believe god placed father frank in his path to start that journey and the completion was forgiving himself. He didn’t snap his finger (god) and cured lucifer he gently nudged him with the right people at the right time. On a side note when father frank died and lucifer is angry I still think that was gods plan. Yes he was angry, yes he was raged but when you want someone with already deep seeded rage to lose it you have to trigger it. Let it out in the open to truly let it go. Maybe for lucifer to realise it himself

If they ever show us heaven I expect father Frank and Charlotte to make a cameo appearance. It also be nice to see more of Lucifer’s siblings

@@aperson7838 he could. Maze can grow a soul 😊. I joke. But a human ambassador to interact with angel and humans. That would have been great. I mean cane was human and made to live for eternity. Granted he was the first murderer but god could have saved father frank. I believe was part of his plan to help lucifer forgive himself. Lucifer at his heart was a broken angel who was angry at not being worthy and blamed himself for humanity bad decisions even though on numerous occasions he only punished said crime. I believe god way to start the journey for him to forgive himself was to put father frank is his way. Father frank was not a life purist. He has a past and lucifer could relate to that. Makes the connection. Easier. It started the journey for him. Later in the episode when father frank dies lucifer calls out his dad. Anger and rage. This is good. God knew of all his anger and sometimes you need to draw that to the surface. It did. Later when Chloe finds out lucifer is the devil and the episode where he can’t lose his devil face. He essentially says after Chloe tells him to forgive himself “I don’t know how” then he realises. Father frank started him on the journey.

This is a great series. So many hated on this series because it was about a good Lucifer. But that is exactly what made it great.

For me this is the best moment in the show. It felt so genuine. Nothing comes close.

knowing lucy, he's probably seen hundreds of thousands of so called "priest" down in hell. so it must have been so refreshing to met one who walks the walk.

This is still one of the best episodes of the show, Frank and Lucifer really understood each other and the ending was great

I absolutely loved the look on Father Frank’s face when he noticed Chloe caught Lucifer. “Haha busted!”

Father Frank should've stayed longer. Would've loved to have seen the look on his face when he meets God. lol

IKR also he would have made an excellent friend to Lucifer but really who would have thought a Father and the Devil they are sworn enemies but what would really happen if Frank found out the truth? but it would jave been sweet if Frank had said Son i already knew and i choose to be friends with you

I could imagine that if Father Frank continued to be a consistent character in the show, he'd be a part-time pianist in Luci's Bar. The Local Priest that does nights playing piano for the Devil.

Episode nine of last season had a giant Easter egg about father Frank, on Lucifer "to do list" at the start of the episode there's a "visit father Frank" meaning Lucifer went to visit father Frank once every time

Fun fact, one of the last episodes of season 6 of Lucifer where it’s the beginning scene and he’s checking off a chalkboard to do list, 2nd on the list says “Check in on father frank”

Chloe: _"Sometimes you get along best with people you're most different from."_ Hold that thought, Chloe. Maybe until, let's say, Season 2 when you say: _"We're completely different people, Lucifer."_

This was the most epic episode on the entire show so far !!! The speech to God in the End was breathtaking !!!! Also im missing the great Piano scenes in the new Seasons :s

So far, still my most favourite scene of the whole series. Them playing the piano was so heartwarming

Moments like these make me remember why I love early Lucifer.

Why do I get the feeling that Father Frank knew that he was in the presence of the actual devil? Yet he remains unfazed and caring to the point that he could befriend Lucifer. That to me is the sign of a sinner so comfortable in himself that he’s found balance in both the light and darkness within himself.

I've always loved this scene because there's always a common ground even between opposites. 😓😇

Maybe God will finally let lucifer back into heaven and the first person he sees is father frank like a reunion or lucifer wanders through hell and sees a familiar face and that face is father frank and he's confused on how he ended up in hell and maybe at the end he bends the rules and takes him to heaven
