007: Nightfire's Impossible Glitch

Ойындар

Autoscroller missions are normally pretty boring to speedrun, but Nightfire's are pretty interesting in their own right. One of them, Alpine Escape, has a pretty major time save that nobody has done yet, outside of a TAS. In this video, I explain how this is possible, as well as how we got here in the first place.
Clips used in this video:
OllieNK's 4:02 World Record: • Alpine Escape 4:02 (UWR)

Non-GoldenEye 007 speedruns are really starting to pop off and I'm so glad to see it happen. The potential for 5-7 seconds to be saved on a 22-year-old AUTO SCROLLER is crazy.

The scope into the window to the woman in the shower is still the craziest thing any game ever got away with

This style of videos is really awesome. Especially for someone that doesn't speedrun. The mechanics and "lore" (I guess) are super interesting to learn about.

Thank you! There's so much history in Nightfire speedrunning that I really want more people to know about. The battle leading up to the first 4:02 was also a crazy time for Nightfire speedruns.

Great video. Good to see other games from the 007 franchise being explained. If you consider an in rails level any autoscroller, in Yoshi's Island DS we skip two thirds of 2-6 doing some manipulation of the camera and the fact that the goal is there. Also, in 5-5 (the extra long autoscroller cave) we are able to cut 2 min by going over one of the autoscroll trigers, thus deactivating the autoscroller.

Definitely. There's no way to save more than a minute from this level, unless something absolutely crazy gets found.
