    Thanks! It's doing even more than that, it uses two second order equations to shoot where the target will be even if it's accelerating. So it's shooting ahead of where it's ahead.

    hey I'm doing the same work as yours but instead of servo im using Nema 17 Stepper with Geekworm Stepper HAT, my motors aren't moving smoothly they make a hell lot of noise that it feels like someone is firing a turret and keeps on moving in one direction even if i give command to rotate in oppsite it just keeps on going sometimes it just roatates one step back and then keeps moving forward direc. in microstepping mode it keeps on vibrating but don't rotate it heats up the motors too. estimate distance is also possible with one camera. Why you chose double camera ?

  • @ThoughtinFlight
    @ThoughtinFlight2 жыл бұрын

    If you think about it, getting distance from one camera is mathematically impossible unless you know the exact cross sectional area of the target, and that area doesn't change ever (I.E a sphere). To get 3 co-ordinates in 3 dimensional space, you need 3 equations to relate, or two equations and one fixed variable. In this case the fixed variable is the distance between the cameras, and the equations are the projections from 2D to 3D space (in actual fact its 6 variables including all the rotation angles! but we ignore them because they are also all fixed). If you want an in depth understanding of this math field, look up Homogeneous coordinates and projection geometry in Euclidian space :).

    why you choosed static camera ? if would you put camera with gun, PID alghoritm would be useless. You could be see more area by turning around turret. (would not have restricted visibility) If you will add add slip ring you could be turning turret around indefinitely.

  • @ThoughtinFlight
    @ThoughtinFlight2 жыл бұрын

    Many reasons. You can run a much better and faster image algorithm on static cams, and your origin for the gun laying algorithm can be hardcoded. If you really want 360, you could have 3 sets of cameras rather. I would much rather put one turret facing opposite direction along with one facing forward.

    This is a nice, inexpensive, less lethal way of providing security. Why fire lead bullets when things like paintballs, rubber bullets, nylon balls, and bean bags can often effectively drive off or even take down people and/or animals without (normally) seriously injuring them, let alone killing them.
