  I bought the song 1980-1981, saw full video 1983 best video and song by bowie, never heard scary monsters until 1990s great album, the ashes to ashes song is a bit different on scary monsters slight difference.

  Loved the video wow david mallet did a great job, song was amazing, heres a fact spoken vocals were quite hard to understand, he sings songs that please the ears but make the mind blow, and left there 1974, but the rest he just sings the same never done good things, never done bad things,etc amazing song and video back in the 1990s i never heard any cover version of this song,,listen there an early bowie song that sounds a bit like ashes to ashes want to know what it is ??

  Christmas number one, 1981 in UK and Ireland. I remember watching it on TOTP as a 12 year old. Little did I realise that I was listening to a synth-pop classic at the start of the greatest decade ever ..... the 80's!
