on this ferry, were you allowed to acess your vehicle and camper in the lower decks? or did you have to lock it up and leave it?
Beautiful
Just as a note, the whale shots were taken from the shore at the Bonavista Lighthouse area. Here, the whales are in close to the shore due to the steep drop off and deep water, just off the cliffs.
Sorry about the wind noise. Try to filter it out somewhat.
Out of interest, for those planning a trip to the Twillingate area. I found Twillingate to be very RV unfriendly with many No Overnight parking signs. In the campground where we stayed there were a number of campers, who could not find a boondocking spot. To make matters worse, it seems the much touted iceberg capital seldom seems to get icebergs any longer, and whales are also scarce, even though its high season for them. Guess it's global warming. Like all tourists traps, watch that you don't spend hundreds to see a few sea birds, etc.
Love the videos and thank you for the comment on my battery charger video it's been a while since I have went to Canada but I used to love going I will also subscribe to you with my OUTDOORS WITH PAWPAW channel
At first, I had issues, but it was the installer, not the bags. Once I found an installer that was capable, they worked well. Having an air compressor, as opposed to a valve on the bumper, was well worth the cost. After a year or two of travels, I traded the vehicle in, so I can't really comment as to how long they would have lasted.
Hi. This is a question about towing with your Santa fe. You had air bags installed in it. How well did they work and did they last? We’re there any problems with them? Thanks in advance. Tom
Where did you get the wing mirror extenders from? Do they work well?
Hi, they came with the trailer, the dealer had them in stock. They work great arecare easy to put on and take off,
I guess you got some ideas for your garden
Very different, I bet from Tokyo at night. 😊
💕Wow💗💗💜💗💜💜💜💜
Thank you for joining us on this epic 45,000 km one year trip. We most certainly got to visit seldom travelled parts of both Canada and the USA, this together with the people we met and associated with made for a fantastic experience. It is a trip that could only be done in an RV with time to spare. Sadly, it's over, but the memories will last. 😊
The Santa Fe was completely stock and ran well. The only issue was the soft rear suspension, which the Airbags resolved. It will handle, from my experience, a small trailer no problem. 😊
Hi, recently found your channel and I’m quite enjoying it. I have a question for you. It’s in regards to the Santa Fe you had as a tow vehicle. I have the same unit and I want to tow a small trailer. Besides the air bags ( which I will be adding and the hitch) did you use a transmission cooler and did you have any overheating issues? Thanks Tom
I read more of the comments and found the info thanks
Which air bags did you put into the Santa Fe? We have the same year and model. Thanks Tom
Again.... sorry about some of the wind noise.
I hope you enjoyed the park and town as much as we did. 😊
I was your neighbor in tombstone RV
Good to watch the movie.... Tombstone
Again..... sorry for the wind noise 😊
Spent Thanks Giving weekend at the Flying J. They were very accommodating in allowing us to stay there while we waited to get the leaf springs replaced. The emergency / road side assistance service company was great - did an excellent job in sourcing the parts and getting the repairs attended to.
Sorry about the wind noise. Guess I need some sort of filter.
Special thanks to our Harvest Host, who allowed us to shelter in their barn during the storm. 😊
Sorry about wind noise, weather was horrid ... no fun driving in snow and heavy winds.
Special thanks to the Harvest Hosts who assisted us during the poor weather 😂
Naturally, the route changed due to the weather and availability of camping areas.
Brenda is talking C not F.
The ship we went on is a working vessel. It takes people and supplies to the remote area on Vancouver Island and tge logging stops.
The salmon are running up river to breed. The province has built a fish ladder around the rapids to help them get up stream.
The tree, big Doug... a Douglas fir, was left behind by the loggers due to its size and age.😊
Vancouver Island and Victoria in particular are not RV friendly areas. Besides the narrow and crowded streets and parking lots, there are many no parking, no overnight signs throughout the area. Even the washrooms at fast food restaurants and gas stations are locked.
These hot springs are difficult to get to and you need a permit from the band chief.
The free camping at Twin Falls is limited, in the number of spaces available and the size of rig that can fit Into the sites.
Ferry trip from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy, BC. The weather was horrid, so the beautiful views were covered in mist. I would still recommend the trip, however maybe with better planning, better weather could be selected. 😊
Apparently the town provides the wood for tge competition, however tge carvings must remain in the town. They are dotted all over town.
We received hail damage to the trailer and the truck while in the mountains in Alberta. A storm blew in at midnight when we were camping, so we had little chance to cover up or run for it. One of the most difficult things we found, living in a trailer, is how vulnerable you are to weather. A number of time we had to run from storms, wind and hail - this adds a whole new dimension full time RV life.
We had frame issues, so needed to get the frame reinforced. This is a common issue on trailers now apparently. The welder said he sees it all the time, in that area.
Sorry for the background noise...and the abrupt end. 😮
Thank you. Now I know what is needed for my 2017 Santa Fe XL for towing heavy. I appreciate your video
Actually the hill is a butte, not a but 😂
Please excuse the wind noise, haven't been able to filter it out.
how you doing?!thanks~you made outstanding traveling,so long! :)
What class trailer hitch?
Class 3, installation by RV dealer. BLUE OX weight distribution
What class trailer hitch?
I can barely hear anything for the music 😒
Lol
what's your MPG?
Hey, did you ask because you are towing with one? If so, what's your MPG? I'm about to buy a 2017 santa fe ultimate AWD to tow my T@b and would like to know before committing...
@@silvioligutti4849 I pulled with Kia Telluride single axle travel trailer about 3500lbs. Pulls very well with weight distribution hitch and anti sway bar. I drive with respect to the iron horse, my mpg was about 14.5 average. Going against wind 10mpg and as high as 16 mpg. I pulled two times larger travel trailer 26djse 29.6 ft 4600lbs with Telly for short trips about 1.5 hours but it’s pushing. Now I pull 26djse with f150 much better pulling experience but the mpg dropped to 12.
Does an AWD pull any better than a FWD on Santa Fe Limited? I am upgrading my Santa Fe to a V6 and I am not sure which one is better for towing a small camper. I am looking at a 2018 FWD Limited.
My understanding is a rear wheel drive vehicle is best for towing. Since many modern SUVs do not have that option therefore the AWD vehicle, that can send power to the rear wheels, would be a better choice. It would be wise to do more research on this subject before you commit.
