    Get your loved ones out of the nursing home called “The Oaks at scenic view” in Habersham Co, a 30 yr nurse there AND also known as my sister Vicki McIntyre murders our precious mother on the 5th of last month cause she was done with her SSI Check which my mom suffered 4yrs for that extra$ controlled by our sister, heed this warning if you know anybody there.

    I don’t believe this information is It’s correct his statements are biased. I believe that the information and maybe the data that collected is most likely collected from the people who stand to do the profit from these companies as most of these long-term care skilled nursing I need an assistant living right now are being bought out by LLC companies , with no transparency as to who the parent company actually is and they are for profit I don’t think the temporary CNA program really did much, but put a Band-Aid on the situation because we had staff that were not qualified to perform the care and were coming in and taking advantage of this and companies are coming in and never taken advantage of that, were using all of these grants and the people in upper management and corporate We’re gaining profits in and getting more pay for the people who are actually working on the floor or not they were getting gift cards they were given of groceries. Free pet groceries and that was the bonus for picking up a shift. I think that it people actually care about what’s going on and I mean, the people whose family members are in there with a patient and the residents are in the facilities those people I think that if they care about their loved ones Then they need to get the information straight from the people who are working on the floor. There’s a lot of Advocacy in a lot of conversation that’s buzzing around. It has to do with this environment and the staffing and the sale and the regulations and the surveys and the reimbursement and all of this information all these conversations are mostly discussed between the people who stand to benefit from it these companies, if you collect the data from the people on the ground, you would see that first and foremost. There are a lot of staff who are not taking full-time positions because the management is not supporting. This is a lack of direction because the wages just are there people at the top and making more money people in the top art suffering to try to make ends meet and pay their bills for the people who are actually doing the work and showing up for the job when you don’t have enough staff to safely do the job. Do you have Cna said a temporary CNA they don’t have the qualifications to safely do the job they don’t know what people who work in this environment don’t even realize that this environment is governed by CMS, and the regulations that we all work under are governed by CMS. I’m going to say that again, because I think that sentence just by itself is telling what’s going on in this industry the people who are working and providing the direct care for the patients in the residence are largely unaware that there is a federal regulatory board that governs the directive in the standard of care. Most staff show up do their job and have a manager in their ear reminding them to fill out their POC and for those people who don’t know what a POC is it’s a point of care that is what Cna feels out the document to Kare that was rendered how much they all went to the bathroom, the level of assist all of that information that CMS collects in order to reimburse a company, and so you have a lot of people are going to the motion and they’re filling these things out and they’re signing them without realizing what that’s for how about use and because you don’t have enough set a large large percentage of the people copying in a person before. All this talk of outsourcing these jobs when there’s a plethora of healthcare workers right here at home who would love to just have somebody standing behind them just to support them to give me directive sure, they know what they’re supposed to be doing the support them and making sure that there’s enough staff to Safeway to do it. They need to do is support them and making sure that they have the supplies that they need to support them by providing the correct orientation for training the Critia resources on where to look they don’t know what to do they don’t know how to do it and so what do you said here I’m kind of a quarter pound it on the back is thank goodness that we have this Siri program are they gonna say people right in the building, Carla who people are being trained is copying the person before them and they don’t fully understand what they’re doing. It’s not safe. If the money went fairly to the staff who provide the care on the floor. You wouldn’t have such a large stop in crisis if there were support from management system, that encouraged and supported and back, it’s employees with some kind of employee retention program even just the behind the employee when occurrences happen, such as a staff member, being harassed and physically abused by the patients in the family members, and nobody standing up to put an end to it because we have to have that customer service. I believe that everybody should be treated with dignity and respect. I believe that goes both ways. I don’t think anybody can be treated with dignity and respect when you have patience and residency. Don’t know what to expect. Don’t know what’s going on and you have staff don’t know what the correct process is where to look for the resources to answer the questions for the patients and the family members which leads to this disagreement. And result is the staff are fired. There is nobody standing behind the staff members the healthcare workers that are coming to work to do their job you’re getting penalized for being full-time and there’s never going to Agency because there’s no attachment there. There’s no accountability there you can come and do your job. Not be threatened with your physical safety or your license and your livelihood. And this keeps happening has been happening on a smaller scale for a very long time because he’s a private companies that are buying disability for LLC is a for-profit what it looks like from the floor up is that the healthcare workers are all disposable. No investment in staff. So when I sit here and I hear things like outsourcing its job people overseas instead of investing in the people that have been here and service environment. Well that’s that’s easy corporate and there’s money so it doesn’t benefit the people at the top but displaces the staff we have in this country. These inside training programs led to falsification of nursing licenses

    I found Teepa Snow online shortly after my Mom's neurologist gave her a diagnosis of dementia. What I learned was tremendously helpful in my understanding of what my mom was experiencing, and that in turn eased some of the tensions in our relationship. Mom passed away 7 years ago; she had lost most recall of her earliest memories by that time, and I was no longer known by her as her daughter but ad one of her "people". I have done PAC In Service training with the agency I am employed by which has offered me an even greater understanding of the phases our loved ones go through on this journey with dementia. I will be ever grateful for the insights shared by Teepa Snow, and how they benefit families struggling to care for loved ones with dementia.

    We need someone, like you, to TEACH us how to handle these behaviors. My wife had aphasia and dementia at the same time and half of what you teach did not DIRECTLY apply because my wife could not verbalize what she was thinking. It made my work harder, and so I tried harder to understand and cope with these issues. I dealt with it for 4 months then placed her in a facility for 2 months when she died. Mental decline for 4 months then 2 months of physical decline. Then DEATH/PEACE.

    I kept wanting my mom to stop forgetting and kept reminding myself she couldn't. I wish I had heard this before. I was also taking care of my husband who had cancer and giving him dialysis and treating leg wounds.

    I think it needs to be noted also, that Gen Xer's like to practice a vengeful modality of "Social Justice" on older coworkers as well as largely having no compunction against lying to achieve their goals. I have lost two jobs to GenX dishonesty. The first by a young man being placed in my department because he was problematic. He started dating the company owner's daughter and would make out with her in the middle of the room. The other GenX men in the department would simply admire him for his chutzpa and he would spend hours every afternoon playing on his laptop in the employee lounge. He handed in only partially completed work that I was expected to finish. I reported him repeatedly to HR and even she, who was a millennial, would argue with me about his methods, because after having called him in, he reported me as being prejudiced against younger people. Pretty ridiculous but anyway. I have a two security clearances and work in an industry that requires strict workplace conduct, and have done for a couple of decades. This young man got a couple of his pals in the department to join him in a lie to HR reporting me as having said "I feel like killing somebody." I was met at the door when I arrived at work the next morning and unceremoniously fired and disallowed from entering the building. i was never given the contents of my desk and was legally disallowed from speaking to anyone in the company again, ever. Said GenXer was literally given my job. The second time was at another job a few years later when I was reported as having been "rude and insulting verbally" in my work and was fired for not follow workplace standards for use of pronouns regarding transgendered people. I was pretty shocked because I was working remotely, during the pandemic, and have never had any issues about what people's gender choices are, and never was in conversation with anyone aside from the GenX person I was being oriented by. I later discovered it was not anything I'd said but a license plate holder on my car with the words from the Harry Potter's Marauder's Map, "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" that gave that one person I was regularly working with, on the rare occasion that I came into the office to conclude that I was anti-transgender and needed punishment in the "Social Justice" sense for displaying something from the film series. I liked the license plate frame because I did enjoy the movies and do mapping as part of my career. In those experiences I have observed that this generation has vindictive and nefarious ends in their corporate climbs, and that narcissism is widely the reason for that. They demand to be acknowledged as experts before ever trying anything new. They are eager to punish and I do fear for the sanity of the generation they will produce. They have no respect for experience and expertise, no knowledge of history and no capacity for critical analysis. And they are secretive, toxic and emotionally around the level of toddlers with adolescent hormones. If you are in management, do your company a favor and only hire them on a trial basis with that contingency in writing, otherwise they will destroy your company from the inside out.

    I had a very bad incident happen to my Dad, he was struck by a caregiver. His Teddy bear who he thought was real. He loved the Teddy bear, and he had to watch his Teddy bear being mutilated . I used too be a care giver for dementia patients I followed guide lines to deal with patients. When Dad was abused I told the director of Nurse’s that the employees need to watch Teepa Snow. Since they call themselves a dementia center. It was obvious they needed too learn. The Director said I believe in that, and will implement new training. But it was never followed thru. My daughter was actually working there, she was upset at how her Grandpa was treated. She really cared, but this place did everything wrong. They hire young people with no training off the street. My Dad had a nice room. He was moved from his room, so they could showcase his room for potential new comers. He no longer had his own bathroom. They told him he could use 2 common bathrooms. But then they locked the doors. Then they gave him a portable potty, which didn’t make sense too him. They were supposed to keep his feet elevated but didn’t. He has prior history of pulmonary embolisms. His feet swelled so they increased his dietetics which made him have to urinate more. The director asked me why, why is your Dad urinating on the floor. I tried to explain you moved his room which had a bathroom too one which didn’t, then u didn’t keep his feet up, when sitting in chair. You doubled his dosage of diuretics and said he could use common bathroom, then locked the doors. It went from that too him getting hit by care giver, too his Teddy bear, who he loves getting completely shredded and beat in front of him. You never implemented training for treatment of dementia. I’m so torn up about this! We moved him too another facility. But this should never have happened! I need advice Plez respond Teepa!!!!!!!!

    Teepa, this is a lot for me to take in but I rewatch and rewatch your presentations. I am 76 years old and my husband is 78, he has Vascular Dementia. I am struggling with communication with him, I am learning through your videos to communicate with him differently. I appreciate that your there, I do have missing pieces to this puzzle but I am trying your methods, trying to help my husband. Thank you for your help.

    This gave me goosebumps!!! Positivity! It is the way to make or break a nursing home. Customer service as well as is key! I agree with this 1000 percent! If all the staff believed in this concept the home is a breeding ground for a happy working environment for staff and a happy living environment for the residents.

    Anyone could get angry or upset if they get scared. Forgetting who you are and who you’re surrounded by is a scary position to be in. Delusions can make someone think their own daughter is trying to steal the family silver, and of course if you truly believed that to be the case I think you wouldn’t be very nice either…

    This is SPOT ON the way anybody who's considering long term health care as a career should be. YOU get it. You're one of the rare cnas who sees residents for how precious they are. Your mind set regarding nursing is gospel. God Bless! You would open alot of eyes in nursing homes if you delivered this to them. Too many cnas in it just for the check.
