    Hey Angela, I'm sorry that I asked you so many questions. In some of your videos, you mention that you are open to answering all the questions from your subscribers, but I'm extremely shy to contact you on IG. I understand English well, but I have trouble speaking it sometimes. I'm worried about my accent, especially when giving OPORD briefs during the Blue Phase. 1. Do I need very good English for OCS? 2. Do they give you the materials for the OPORD brief one week in advance to prepare? 3. Will people make fun of me because English is not my first language? Are there lots of Hispanics with accents who struggle a little bit to speak English at OCS? 4. Is land navigation and history very hard? I've read posts from native English speakers saying the course is very difficult. If they find it hard, I'm worried about what to expect as a non-native speaker. I really enjoy watching your videos; you're an inspiration to me. I can literally relate to your personality; I'm extremely shy and not that good at socializing.

I love to help people and I don’t mind the questions I encourage it. I even allow some people a phone chat with me. Is the OPORDS BRIEF REALLY HARD TO DO? Do they give you all the info for the briefing? Can you read your briefing orcyou have to memorize it all?

  • @angelastarr1603
    @angelastarr160311 күн бұрын

    @@xxheadshotxx5562 It’s going to seem hard at first because the pleather of information and all they want you to cover. But once you do it a few times and watch others do it; it gets easier and you become more comfortable. Yes they go over all the details and information to teach how to do an opord. You don’t necessarily have to memorize it but they don’t want you reading everything word from word. They want you to know what you’re talking about but you will have the opord in hand to scan over it as your briefing.

    @@angelastarr1603 Do they give you the information to study a couple of days before, or is it on the same day that you have to make your OPORD brief? Or do they just give you the information a few minutes before, so you can memorize it and do your brief? Also, how long does your brief need to be, 5 to 10 minutes?

    @@xxheadshotxx5562 So you will have plenty of time to learn how to do an opord before your final grade. When I was there we were learning about opords for over a week if not more. So you will get a lot of practice and training. They will be picky about everything so just take notes on where to improve. Briefing can be around 5-10 mins you just have to make sure you are hitting all the key parts. You will have an opord template to guide you. You’ll be fine

    Your videos are amazing, they really help give me a glimpse into the life of an Army Lieutenant. I'm a senior in high school and upon graduation I hope to join with the Army ROTC and finish up at about the age of 20 (I almost have my associate's degree done with). Do you have any advice for someone like me that wants to become an officer? Is there something I should be preparing myself for? What did you feel like and go through when deciding whether or not to join the Army? Thanks!!

  • @angelastarr1603
    @angelastarr1603Ай бұрын

    Thank you 😊 I started off in the Navy when I was 20 years old. I think the military is a great resource rather it’s a stepping stone or something you make a long term career from. However just like with most things it comes with (Pros and Cons). My advice would be to do what makes you happy! Rather you join and find that you like it or don’t like it… make sure you make the most of it! Educate yourself and set yourself up for success rather you stay in or get out. One of those things would be (Make sure you go to medical about EVERYTHING) just to have it documented for VA disability. If you’re thinking about joining as an officer I would say prepare physically and mentally lol Make sure you are fit enough to pass a 4 mile run within 36 minutes or less. Make sure you are mentally strong to deal with the non sense of people.

    So I took my ASVAB back in 2008 when I enlisted in the Navy. The recruiter had given me a study guide and that study guide was the best I’ve seen. It was closely related to the actual test. I studied it for weeks and on my 2nd attempt I scored high. That’s all I did…

  • @angelastarr1603

    To become an officer regardless of your MOS you need a GT score of at least a 110 or higher. Your GT score is incorporated with you ASVAB score so example I have a 60 ASVAB score and a 113 GT score.

    Hi! Often things change from time to time but when I was there depending on your instructor you’ll do PT around 6-7am you’ll have a hour to hour/half to shower, eat breakfast and be in class around 8am. You’ll get 2-3 15 min breaks and 1-2 hour lunch. Class ends between 5-6pm and repeat. Weekends are free to do what you want. Laundry rooms are free and are 2 rooms on every floor.
