Rawstone Model Railway is a fictitious layout based around the Yorkshire area. Locomotives and rolling stock are Era 1 to 5. Follow my layout coming back to life after 20-plus years of gathering dust which started back in June 2020. Also, see what locomotives and rolling stock I buy to run around the layout. Model Railway shows and Heritage Railway videos will be uploaded from time to time as well.

Amazing layouts, thanks for another great video.
@@iansuds7496 Thank you Ian. Amazing all the layouts.
Gotta love a 9F!
@@dibsyardshuntinglayout you have indeed ☺ 👍 🚂
stunning x
Some great layouts, expertly captured.
@@dibsyardshuntinglayout thank you kindly ☺ yes some really nice layouts on display ☺
Thank you, Rawstone Model Railway, for sharing your footage of the York Model Railway Exhibition. Well seen and well done!!
Not a problem and thank you. Be some more layouts from York in this coming Mondays video as well ☺ 👍 🚂
Lovely layouts, demonstrating how scenery SHOULD be used and the sort of locations in which trains run!! VERY EXCITING!!
Yes some great layouts on display to get plenty of inspiration from ☺ 👍 🚂
There was a signal tower very high with stairs outside, I have never seen this type before,,do you know who makes it,,love to get at least 3 for my use..so many possibilities..😊
Maybe not a signal tower..looked at it some more,,now I’m stumped..what is it..😮
MMR Models is the signal tower I believe.
Nicely done,,great design and details on these layouts,,thanks for sharing,,😊
Thank you. Yes there certainly is. Can take inspiration from most of them ☺
Great video! 👍🏻
Great filming, thank you
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it ☺ 👍 🚂
Great🎉
Thank you ☺ 👍 🚂
The layouts are amazing and of course they have all featured in the pages of Hornby Magazine. Jonathan's layout 'Newton Grove' looks brilliant too. Really well filmed, getting in nice and close. It helpd to bring all the layouts to life 😊
Thank you ☺ yes they were all great layouts was rather taken with Jonathans layout especially watching an O Gauge Duchess move around the yard.
@@rawstonemodelrailway It really is a lovely model, as are many of the ones he had featured in your video. 😊
@@hornbymag True. O Gauge is certainly special.
Stumbled across your Part 3 first. Now I have to watch Part 1 and Part 2. Bloody nice layouts. I love the Brit stuff as I had a Triang trainset in the 1960s. BUT, being from Grafton NSW Australia, I really love New South Wales Railways.
Glad you enjoyed it. Was only a small show but the layouts were all cracking. I can't believe how many different layouts there is on the show scene. Nice ☺ watched a few railway videos from Australia. Saw something about a mile long train that travels through Australia that was amazing.
Hi ya. Great exhibition. Think my favourite was St. John's. Lot of great scenics. Thank you for showing us. I enjoy vlogging exhibitions as well, usually a great day out and meeting people. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
Yeah I really like St. John's as well nice guy that runs it as well. Yeah it's nice videoing the layouts bit of inspiration to look back on for myself and for anyone who wishes to watch the videos ☺ 👍 🚂
Very enjoyable, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. Thankyou for watching ☺ 👍 🚂
very nice loco, the fairburns are one of my favourites, ive got 2 both as the 2 preserved examples from the LHR and always a favourite on my layout for running sessions
Yes It is a nice model I love the big tank engines like this the Stanier and Fowler 4P's as well.
Sadly I find Bachmann locos very flimsy and prone to being damaged very easily. I have 3 where they are no longer in working order However, when they are working they look great and running is very good.
Can't say I've found any flimsy yet but I have found bachmann models that only have 6 pickups on the driving wheels of tender or tank engines tend to be unreliable where similar locos with same amount of pickups from other manufacturers work fine, but they all look the part with great detail.
Love the layout though really interesting to watch
@@DanBiggs-bu7qd Thank you ☺ coming together slowly but surely. Plenty of ideas if I can make them work ☺ 👍 🚂
That was a good watch. My favourite loco. Nice work 👍🏻
@@Rollade1994 thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes they are a nice tank engines. Only one ive seen in real life is one going through renovation at the lakeside and haverthwaite railway.
Lovely layout🙏🏻👍
Thank you ☺ 👍 🚂
Just picked up used Princess Victoria for £100 good price I thought considering the rrp runs great
Yeah they can be picked up for a good price now. Cracking loco for that money. Glad its a good runner ☺ 👍 🚂
More great content from Rawstone Model Railway 😎
Cheers Ian. Glad you enjoyed it ☺
Super video of an excellent model railway show. Thanks so much for filming and sharing!
Thankyou and no problem at all Im glad you enjoyed it ☺ 👍 🚂
That is a brilliantly made tunnel ,love the interior s very realistic, wish I d of done mine like that
Thank you ☺ I know you can't really see inside the tunnel but it was just to see what I could do. If I ever get a ride on camera that might look good as it goes through ☺
very nice job, only just come across this channel, looking forward to seeing more progress on your layout. Tom
Thank you. Slowly but surely it is coming together and learning things all the time. Always had a layout but it was always bare boards other than the odd building here and there so it my first attempt at properly detailing a layout.
@rawstonemodelrailway I now the feeling mine started of as a double track oval using what ever setrack I had just so I could run trains and it grew from there
@@northwesttrainsmodels yeah. I'm having thoughts of extentions. Dangerous thoughts 😂
@@rawstonemodelrailway i need to get a new boiler to get rid of the tank in the loft before I can extend further 😂
@@northwesttrainsmodels sounds like a good incentive to me 😉
Tunnel looks great. Really like the ventilation shaft detail.
Thank you kindly. Yes I thought it would be something a little different adding one. Watched alot of abandoned railway videos on KZread over lock down which give me the idea ☺
Yorkshire tramway 🤔 I spotted a lot of Lacey, Groudle, Howstrake and Darby Castle hidden in there
Very interesting layout and interactive for the kids.
Hi ya. Great exhibition. Some lovely layouts there. Great to see you do the same as myself, tell us the name of the exhibits and their gauge. Great vlog thank you. ....Pete....
Yes was a nice local little exhibition. With the smaller shows you've more time to get round everything and take everything in. Yeah I just think it's useful to know there names and gauges for people who want to watch and gives some exposure to the people who do great work on these layouts.
Fantastic layout. Absolutely love the scenics. Can see you have put a lot of time and effort into it. Great running session thank you. DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)
Thank you very much that is so kind of you to say. Yes I've certainly put a lot of time into since restarting the hobby during covid. Thankfully or scarily don't know which still loads more to do ☺
Love the layout..but my guy LMS 2300 NEEDS some cleanin. She is runnin rough.
Thank you kindly ☺ I'm sure all she needs is a good service and she will be back up and running again ☺ 👍 🚂
@@rawstonemodelrailway Oh fer sure. I have Sevral 40-50 year old Engines that run silent and smooth. So yeah, little Service and she's as good as new. Anyway, Keep up the great work with your layout my dude.
@@Zecer00 it's good to hear that the older models still get the attention they need to keep going. Learnt how to service mine through a few KZread channels really does help to see how it's done 1st ☺ and thank you I will certainly try to do my best.
nice vid and I hope you attend our show this year if it goes ahead
I will keep an eye out for it and see what I can do ☺ 👍 🚂
Another good one. Really good layouts with realistic scenes. 👍
The Shirebrook layout was amazing for N gauge. Some people with better eye sight and steadier hands then me to do that.
This layout is amazing ,love the stations and the viaduct ,superb video !!
Thank you for your kind words. Nice to see that others like my layout. Slow progress but it's not a race ☺ glad you enjoyed the video ☺ 👍 🚂
Really cool show. 👍
Yeah was a nice day out with plenty to see ☺ 👍
My top favourite layout is the James Street layout because I love all the steam hauled and diesel hauled long haul passenger and freight trains!
I can see why. I was very impressed with it when I saw it ☺
Conyard won my vote
Yes it was good. The frontage of the layout is amazing looking like a diesel front end.
@@rawstonemodelrailway I want some if not all on the layout.
@@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway fair bit of money with that lot ☺
@rawstonemodelrailway I would be interested in any comments regarding my videos of Dinmore Junction
@@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway I will watch some of your videos tomorrow night from the thumbnails though looks good ☺ 👍
If any engine is crying out to be weathered it is this one. 😁
Yeah would look good weathered. If you wanna check out some ace weather check out @neville.grove channel. Stunning weathering talent and layout.
Superb work. Love the scenery. I'm a wargamer, so I really appreciate a good-looking "table". I could almost get into model trains, but I have an addictive personality and I'd end up with track marks up my arm.
I'm sure you could do a war gaming layout 2 hobbies in one would be quite interesting ☺
Lovely stuff🎉🚂🌟
Thank you ☺ 👍 🚂
Just noticed another one to watch. 😎
Will keep you occupied for a bit ☺
Nice that Byway MPD 😂 few more exhibitions with that layout yet good video
Getting your moneys worth out of it 😉
