This premium flight looks honestly disappointing for me as I wanted to use delta premium economy for my flight from Salt Lake City to Chicago with me, my mom, & my sister to go to the Philippine consulate to do paperwork. If I was going to use premium economy for an overseas flight I think I should consider another airlines better than Delta. I still would like premium economy for Chicago if I could afford to waste money on it because it's more comfortable and I prefer comfortable flights even if it's from Salt Lake City to Chicago.

If you're looking for domestic premium economy, make sure you check the plane type. A lot of times delta might try to market comfort plus as premium economy and that is just the standard economy seat with a few extra inches of leg room.

@@LinkingAdventuresHow is the individual space any larger than on say a 777 that has 17” wide seats and a 30” pitch (the standard) or a 767? I really don’t get comments like that. A jetBlue A321 has 18.25” wide seats with 32” pitch.

@afcgeo882 in the economy section, I believe there's a little less space than on a standard 777 since they only offer 30 inches of seat pitch as opposed to 31 inches of seat pitch. However, I booked a ticket in westjet premium for less than the cost of basic economy with other main line carriers. The premium seat on the 737 is about 2 inches wider than that on westjet's 787.

@@afcgeo882the a380 has to be one of the smoothest rides I've been on, but you really can't beat the queen of the skies ao I'd take a 747 ride over an a380 ride if I could find one.

I took a roomette from St. Louis to San Antonio for a 31 hour train ride and it was pretty cool to say the least. The one major issue was that due to the storms that inundated East Texas, I had to ride a coach bus from Fort Worth to Temple and then about 45 or 50 miles from San Antonio, we had to wait our turn to move on as there was a ginormous train with about 15 to 20 cars rolling on the tracks heading northbound. We got to San Antonio at a quarter before 11pm which was only a half hour late.

On a previous train trip, we diverted due to flooding, so it's not unheard of. Sounds like aside from that bus ride you had a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

I recently flew back to Boston in Premium Economy class 380, and the experience was dreadful. The two-three-two seating was exceptionally uncomfortable, with hard seats, and also challenging to exit when necessary, especially for restroom visits.

  • @LinkingAdventures
    @LinkingAdventures29 күн бұрын

I agree that a major downside is exiting the seats when seats are reclined.

7:46 "express my warmest gratitude to Delta for their hospitality". Idk man maybe its because I travel internationally a lot and have significant experience with numerous international airlines or maybe its just me, but I find America-based airlines especially Delta to be one of the most rock bottom in their "hospitality" or "warmth". Sure they might be a tad bit better than break-your-face-open United airlines or AA but still they rock bottom on the world stage. Delta's flight attendants are mostly pissed off majority of the times and that turbulence thing you mentioned, I find increasingly that Delta uses that as an excuse to cancel meal services almost like its a cost cutting measure. Other international airlines experience turbulence too and long durations of it, but I haven't seem them so willing to cancel services as quick as Delta and USA-based airlines are. Anyway glad you enjoyed your experience. I for one, have not much good to say about Delta or american airlines given how extensively I travel and usually find airlines like Qatar, Emirates, Cathay, JAL, to be much friendlier and warmer.

  • @LinkingAdventures

I certainly agree that the quality of service on International carriers can far surpass that of American carriers.

I am glad the Army and backpacking taught me how to sleep anywhere. I can sleep like the dead in Coach, never mind a Roomette. I hear so many lament how the motion of the train prevents them from sleeping.

FYI - You hit on a point regarding leg room in Premium Select that some taller folks (6'0" and up) might want to know about... There is actually LESS "LEG ROOM" in Premium Select in an Airbus 350 than there is in Main Cabin or Comfort Plus!... The opening to get your leg under the seat in PS is (only) 5.5 inches in height (the seatback in front of you comes down lower, closer to the floor). In Main Cabin, Comfort Plus, that "opening" is 8.8 inches in height... So a (taller) person is LOSING over 3 inches of access to get your legs under the seat in front of you (and can be kind of aggravating when your shin keeps hitting the seatback in front of you). And no matter how hard you might try to "scrunch", the angle to get your legs under the seat in front of you is a pain... (As I learned on my first PS Airbus 350 flight... FYI, I have 3.5 MM FF on Delta). So you weren't imagining the uncomfortable aspect of flying in Premium Select. It isn't all that it purports to be (as the Delta marketing would leave you to believe when they talk about how much more "spacious" the Premium Select seating is)...

  • @LinkingAdventures

That's an excellent point. something i strive to do with all of my flight reviews is to provide a picture for taller and wider individuals when selecting an airline to fly with.

Yeah I was in a exit row main cabin and I realized I would have waaaay more room than comfort. I am short. I'd rather sneak my own alcohol, and bring my own premium snacks. For a long flight I will eat at the airport instead and then sleep.

Thank you for your trip on BA here.😊 Yes, you were very lucky having the seat next to you free.😊 That is always something I have looked for few years ago. It is nice being upstairs was very nice getting a better view. I miss thst on the recently retired 747-400s. I wonder why did the crew change from giving a glass to plastic glasses. To me, if at all, that should be reversed. Plastic glass for pre-departure and then regular glasses for the wine glass with dinner.😊 Anyway, I also am 6'2" and I am always concerned about my knees bring hit by the person in front of me with their seat reclined back.😮 This is why I always ask fir upgrades and use my points to get Business Class for that extra legroom!!! Finally, I hear you about going to the lounge after landing on this over the pond international flight. I have done the same. Again, thank you again for sharing this good flight over the pond to London, UK.😊

Glad you enjoyed the video. I always strive to put out the best information i can particularly for taller and broader passengers. You bring up a good point. while the Premium economy seats offer more space that generous recline could very well come at the cost of some knee space.
