Too beat up. No tilt/cruise, average Buick lover would pass. Had 69 and 70. Both loaded. That's what you want. 👎

Appreciate the honest presentation of the car's condition. This needs to be restored. The 70 model is the last of the Electra convertibles and the first and last year for the premium fuel 455. But a lot of work will have to go into this one to make it nice.

I always liked these back in the 70s, but they were a dime a dozen in my neck of the woods. Seems like most cars back then were V8s. Small cars didn't take off yet, but a few.

I have owned 3 of those 4dr cadillacs one was a 78 and the other two were 79s. That 425 V8 engine was different from any of the junk they call engines today. It is fact that the 425 used between 77 and 79 beat the Rolls Royce 380 and 415 v8s. RR wanted that engine for their large cars but GM would only sell them the 400 turbo hydramatic transmissions.

Parents brought me this car at 16yrs old brand new in 1980. My first car!! Red with red interior. I put some Epsilons rims chrome w/red sprocket on it, lowering kit and switched out the seats for reclining Recaro seats, GT steering wheel, and upgraded the sound system. Alpine pull-out indash and Cerwin Vega speakers and 250w amplifier w/crossovers. The cleanest ride on the Eastside in Los Angeles. The beginning of the car craze in L.A. I then brought a 1971 Mazda RX2 and did the same thing. That rotary engine was sweet sounding.

I had a 1979 Fleetwood Brougham with the 425ci, rare Bendix EFI. It ran like the wind. Factory dual exhausts. Mine was Slate Firemist with pearl gray leather and pearl gray top. Loved that car. In our family since it was new. Purchased from my uncle. 54,000 miles. Mint. Came home from work one night in 1995 and found out the lower parking garage had completely flooded by a severe Texas rainstorm. All the nice cars on that basement level under water. Cried my eyes out. Total loss.😢

49 Olds were a very fast car. My dad drove one and he would never stop for the police, who were driving slower straight eight Buicks. GM de-tuned them after 1949 because they were too fast. Because he always did burnouts in his Olds, I drive a kit.
