  What I do is try to understand, not memorize but UNDERSTAND the information and then write it in my own words. I also start off with the big idea and carefully go more in depth, instead of trying to take on everything at once

  So I have ADHD and I just oanic atracks were just a joke until I dug into college anatomy text book.....as a I guess well composed dude I snapped not too long from me posting this and my fiance helped me out by telling me just to think it out and see where in your notes that is not making sens. Well for starters I would do sections as shown in this video but I would write all vocabulary at the beginning and when I got the the sections I would be writing down to much and get overwhelmed becaue I would dance around the vocab I just wrote down. My notes would in exchange be not fruitful or bear much informaton. Well anyways idk what in trying to say but this is my nnew approach at beginning of each chapter at top of page put like Chapter 1 Cellular structure, then find a summary that is below the chapter one before it gets into the section like 1.1 and write down what this is about, like get yourself a short but good informative start for what yiur actually kinda learning for the chapter as a whole draw a squiggly line or whatever the section that off. Then start your section 1.1 write down yet again a what is this section is going to be about, then there should be a subsecton that for example is like just couple words in color like the memrane and its function, start out with summary on what its about. I then put a "-", on sode if paper for context and write out context if any vocabulary continue writing it out then what I do is if I have vocabulary I put a big dot on left of blue line with a V looking like this, "V. Or V). Then define vocab within that context (guess can be applied with important people or events or things) then below put "-" for anymore really important context then maybe something else below that using "-", then just kinda repeat from there. Until i squiggle a like under that section and get into 1.2 then repeat that. Basic thing is dont get hooked on all the small things just get the meat (or the bigger info) written down and if you need textbook for futher context as you read, use the text book for whole context if you need the notes should really just cover what you really need to have written down. Also I am doing this for anatomy so like I need to draw examples, so i use clear paper and on the left side of the page im taking notes on, within blue like I write figure number from book so somewhere it may say figure 1.4 i write that to left of yhe blue line that is revelant to that section so I can compare the sililarites of what I read for that section, gaining the bigger picture. I hope this kinda helps since I kinda freshely figured this out. Sorry for grammacal errors but c'mon its social media just throwing food for thought out there rq!!!
