Can someone explain this to me? I don't really follow Magic, but I understand that even these beta starter decks cost like $40,000. The total value of the pulls always is like a thousand bucks or two. Are people really opening these just for the small chance to find a black lotus or something? That seems like a lot of money to gamble away

Just so people know if you sac or blow up stasis everyone else still untaps at their next untap phase, it says “cards still do not untap until the next untap phase” which if you had to sacrifice it you wouldn’t get but each other player would get it because the effect ceases once it leaves the field because it’s an enchantment.
