  And to actually answer your question...lol...yes! They change colour as the age. They have a spring and fall molt, so they can also change a bit season to season. :)

  Wasps are good creatures despite their loathesome reputation, I can't blame them for being the way they were made. I haven't had much trouble with wasps as long as I kept my food & drink moving around, if I'm not threatening them by swiping at them, they do not come after me. Although they can get caught up in long hair and panic, so if your hair is long likely tie it up when eating wasp-friendly food outside. Unless they're invasive, if they're invasive get out the scissors. or if you're a beekeeper, bees do not work well under wasp raids.
