    Please DON'T call them Pseudo siezures. That name implies that they are made up and faked. It is properly named Psychogenic Non-epileptic Seizures. They are also NOT all caused by "trauma" as claimed. I know very personally.

    It looks like the second time checking and score is from after marks are placed. How did the change come at a cost? I thought by going with the first measurements you would have already deducted and then having the correct values?

    @@Dmhowdy After you make the marks you will find after checking they will be a few millimeters off of where you initially intended. Being off a few millimeters is okay, but being off centimeters is bad.

    Anti seizure medication does help for non epilepsy seizures there are many kind of seizures not just grand mal seizures do your research

    @@en2oh You’re right it does cost a lot for most people just looking to record their brain as a hobby. I’m thinking about working towards medical device clearance or using it for my EEG school since it’s expensive to make.

    EKG tech records the electrical activity of the heart. An EEG tech records the electrical activity of the brain, primarily looking for seizure activity.

    Honestly, I can not wait to start my new career path. I have always been interested in things involving the brain, which is why I worked as a patient care technician in Neurology for six and half years. I wanted to be a nurse, but I believe this would be a better fit.

    What’s up man. Here in Southern CA they have 2 programs. One is a for profit school and the other is a community college. In your experience do employers look to hire community college graduates over trade schools graduates?

    @micksmith so true I am a Neurodiagnostic technologist with an Associate of Science that I acquired at the same time that I was doing NDT schooling. I love this career but it’s a lie that there are plenty of jobs and yes most companies required that you are registered it took me a year to find a job and it sucks because I have to drive far to different hospitals. I don’t recommend this career!

    @@wendycamacho2575 I agree. ABRET needs to eliminate pathway IV and require everyone to have neurodiagnostic education to get registered. It would not only make the job more competitive, it would keep the salary higher as well.

    Only if it were that simple to be an EEG Technologist. More and more facilities want you to be registered and have some sort of EEG schooling. As you know, Pathway IV requires 5 years of clinical experience with no degree to become registered. Good selling point though, I hope you can market your products.

    @@micksmith2929 I agree & think the hardest part is getting your foot in the door. I have friends who have never been registered and been doing it for decades. Hopefully I can help more people get started learning EEG with my machine. I appreciate your support!

    @@omar403o7 I have friends who skipped EEG college and trained themselves. The first steps are to learn the 10-20 system electrode sites, and learn to measure a head. Teaching yourself should save $10k+ in student loans, and the wasted time not getting paid as a student.

    If the EEG shows burst suppression with no sedation, it is the worst pattern to see besides complete brain death. I’ve never seen someone recover from a burst suppression pattern seen without sedation

    @@clearedhot6146 I’d do a little studying maybe an hour a day on things you’re not confident in. It’s better to study a little bit every day instead of trying to cram and memorize everything the week before. If there’s anything you don’t understand, I’m happy to make a video to help.     ASAP questions weren't enough. I was getting 98% on ASAP questions and was so pumped up. I even went deeper to not just memorization but understating why that was the answer. But guess what? I ended up failing. Especially if you are unlucky and you get a set of questions that are tricky and has a few possible answers. Guess what. My entire 250 questions was like that.😂

    @@joelgarcia1038 I think best thing is to focus on the specific questions you struggle with. I think later ABRET will send you details about your scores on each section of question. A general book like EEG primer may just go over general things you already know. I’m sure you can’t be too far off passing since you get 98% on ASAP questions.

    @jaredbeckwith that's true. I spoke with someone regarding that because the testing facility I took my exam at had technical problems too. Which didn't help at all with already being anxious at that moment of taking an exam.... I will wait for ABRET results and go from there. Thanks Jared!

    @@shreyashmane88 Yes you can if registered with 2 years experience. There’s different travel contracts like 8hrs x 5 days/wk, 10hrs x 4 days/wk, 12hrs x 3 days/wk.

    The hospital, pediatric world is different like he mentioned. I work pediatrics now. I enjoy it as we are growing our EMU. That world isn't as mundane as outpatient. Each has pros and cons. I enjoy pediatric/hospital world but you will also need a great support team or system to keep going.

    I graduated as a NDT last year 2023. I live in CA in the small town of Menifee, it took me a year to find a job and its more of a vender job, pay is very good, I love being a Neurodiagnostic Technologist and I never get bored of doing my job. However, the driving is brutal and very frustrating. It took me 18 months to graduate and I finished it with an Associate of Science degree.

    You left out what happen if the patient has a seizure when you give them the strobe light. Can't this be horrible to witness and try to manage? How often does it happen?

    @@markae0 Good question! If the patient has an epileptic reaction to the strobe light you are supposed to stop it. It happens a lot more rarely than you’d think though.

    @@jaredbeckwith I think you might be missing a niche (safe) market polysomnography. Of course this is a bit of over kill, but added EOG, resp rate etc and you’ll have a low risk hit in your hands

    Hi! Maybe bc your junction box is not incased, so probably picking up all types of electrical interference. When I do my tracing, I unplug beds and pumps, especially the feeding pump. Thanks

    @@rockhead4598 I think you’re right, there is some electrical noise being picked up since the board is not in a box. Definitely on my list of future improvements!
