Class Alison
Love your playing. What make of Tenor is that?
It’s a very special Urlacher Guitar! urlacherguitars.com Her work is incredible.
Wow! What have you been doing more recently?
Hey the world misses you, we could all use another great cover, and thank you for this ❤❤❤
Thanks for the encouragement! Comments like this really do help. I’m actually getting back into the studio on Friday. I just posted a vocal clip on my TikTok page @alisonhelzermusic. I’ll try to get longer-form content up on KZread before too long. 😊
@@AlisonHelzerHenderson this made my day, keep it up your more inspiring than you realize!!!
Thank you ❤❤❤
Beautiful tone if don't mind me asking what strength and gauge you use please
I hope you're donig well ❤. This was really well played!
Lovely and Beautiful. The song and the lady. Thanks for sharing with us all.
I don't believe in reincarnation, BUT this guitar used to be a piano. So cool, and it sounds very nice too.
Very nice! My father and grandfather both played tenor guitar and tenor banjo. I wondered what got you started on tenor guitar. I have played six string and a baritone ukulele for many years and am now working on learning tenor guitar.
Wow! I love it when a good artist makes a cover of a song and adds their own flair to it. This was a fantastic example of that! 😊
Thank you!!
Woah
So beautiful! Magically played too!
Lovely.
This is beautiful. I never slowed down to listen to these lyrics before. Well done, great voice, great instrument!
OMG, this is great, your voice is amazing.
Thank you!
I'm so obsessed with this rendition on Have you ever seen the rain.
Thank you!
Damn I love this video so much
Hey Alison, I’m deeply in love with your Si Bhaeg Si Mhor and Fear a Bhata, you don’t know how many freaking times I’ve been listening to them….just wanna say you are amazing! 🤗
Thank you so much! That means a lot.
@@AlisonHelzerHenderson Will you release any new Gaelic song in the future? Your voice is so soothing and angelic😇
@@eddiehillergrand8882 Most likely! If I do, I'll announce it here. Thanks for the support!
What pickup are you running? Looking for a soundhole pickup for my tenor but so hard to find one that will fit!
The brand is Bill Lawrence. I can't remember the model name, but it's the smallest one they have. S/o to Amblin in Eugene for showing me this pickup! Tenor guitars are tricky this way.
Tuning?
How nice this sounds I'm going to try to learn this song
Crisp, clean, beautiful execution of a wonderful song. Thank you!
Thanks for listening!
Great love it. Well played.
Thank you!
@@AlisonHelzerHenderson You very talented. Regards. Dave.
What's the pickup called?
You may wanna get a Recording King Goldfoil Pickup so that you can record with this Tenor Guitar more easily.
I believe it has a Spruce Top.
Alison Helzer-Henderson So this Guitar is in a Violin Tuning (but down an Octave) w/ John Pearse #450 Strings (13, 20w, 30w, 42w) & you could use it for Jazz (like Elmer Snowden did) because it gives the instrument a much deeper & mellower sound. If you've followed my KZread Channel I've played Sing Sing Sing arranged by Mark Brymer on a Tenor Guitar, & my Comping was great:kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXttrpN6k7zdnNI.html
I can't love this enough
I just discovered your music and am very glad I did! Beautifully done!
Thank you so much!
This is incredible! Great job
bought a tenor guitar 2 years ago .. i want to learn this piece
John Pearse #450 Strings should allow you to tune it like a Violin/Mandolin but down an Octave
Beautiful music from a beautiful lady, thank you...
What brand of pickup are you using?
Hi there! It's a little Bill Lawrence pickup. Regular 6-string acoustic pickups don't work for this tenor due to the size of the sound hole. This one from BL is great because it can fit :)
Welcome to 1971.
Sounds great! What kind of pickup are you using?
Beautiful! What brand of tenor guitar are your playing?
woww this sounds incredible what tuning is your tenor banjo in?
Thanks! I tune the banjo DAEB, but the tenor guitar and octave mandolin are both GDAE.
That tone is absolutely *gorgeous* oh my
I wasn’t looking but am glad that this popped into my recommendations. You have an amazing voice. While watching, my mind kept telling me that you looked familiar and the name vaguely rang a bell. Looked through the comments here and saw the comment from Mary Stevenson and it hit me. I seem to run into Billies all over the internet but outside of people that I grew up with, I think you’re the first Lost Creeker I’ve found. If my faulty old memory is correct, you graduated around the same time as the 2 Jacob’s, Shadwick and Landstra. Thank you for brightening my morning and keep singing, that voice needs to be heard.
Wow that was magnificent
So your Dad converted an old Piano into a Guitar.
Hi, greetings from a former Eugene resident (through the '90s.) Great to hear this beautiful tune. I know it through the Irish band Solas, from their self-titled album. Didn't know it was French.
I love Solas! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it
Really nice guitar and playing!
Thanks Lee!
Hi Alison, I have tuned my tenor to DGBE to play with other ukulele players. What's the tuning you're using? Prefer this to the original. Regards William, Australia.
Hi William, I tune my tenor guitar GDAE, like a mandolin. Thanks for listening!
Either the fish have "Ick", or they are dancing to the melody!
i remember driving up to the state chess tournament back in highschool it was after you had graduated your dad was playing a cd with songs you had recorded i thought you sang amazingly and really wanted a copy im glad you are posting on youtube because i never got that copy you are def one of my favorite singers :D
Hey Leo, great to hear from you! Thanks for reaching out, it really means a lot. You should email me your address and I'll mail you a CD. My email is alison [dot] helzer [at] gmail. I hope you're doing well!
you are amazing! 😍 btw, what is the tuning with/without capo here?
Thanks Goran!! Sorry for missing this comment until just now! The tuning without the capo is GDAE.
