I'm glad you enjoy it but it isn't for me for sure... before, it looked like a rich, timeless, vintage piece- now it looks like something you can find at a craft store.

It looks more like sanded down and painted wood, not so much stained and refinished. If it came out how you envisioned, than you did it just the way it needed to be done ❤

Stripper and sand paper! You can then stain it a different color or paint it (after priming.) Also oven cleaner is caustic and toxic and should be used with proper precautions for you, and the environment.

The little white dish is a candy or nut dish from the 50s they had little lids originally. My great grandma had a few.
That's not "orange!" That is the natural color of wood stained! Learn to appreciate it. Wood is a precious resource.
Some people prefer other colors rather than this orangish natural wood color. If you like it then that’s fine but don’t force other people to “appreciate” what you like.
