    Toyota really knows how to cut some costs with their cars. Lexus all comes with loud powerful horns, but most of the Toyota has that tiny weak horn from the factory

    The rear seats head rest have 2 settings, one to adjust it higher and another to tilt forward 45ish degrees so you don't have to move your front seats.

    Thank you for the video and providing the bolt size and what else may be needed. I the Piaa 400hz + 500hz horns on the way and they both have the factory Toyota connections, so I just bought a pigtail 1 = 2 adapter so no additional grounding needed. Happy I won't have to run back to the store to figure out the bolt size! 👍

    Remove the rear diffuser and pop out the fake exhaust tips. Then you can black them out with paint before reinstalling everything. It took me about four coats. It's a super easy diy job.

    I've never seen under the hood of the hybrid model, so unfortunately I can't help you there 😅 I guess you'd just have to get creative with where you mount it and possibly fabricate something. Good luck!

    @@MattWalters I managed to make it work. There's an identical slot on the other side of the car, so I ran 16 guage wire from that side of the car to to the harness. Works perfectly. Thanks for the video

  • @robob221

    @@DogsSnipescan also just remove that pedestrian speaker and plug in a resister to trick the car into thinking it’s still there. Then use that spot for the horn. Or simply drill a small hole to screw into, not that crazy.

    This review reminds me of how easy modern cars are to drive versus the pure analog of older cars. I'd guess most people who have been driving 15 years or less wouldn't know how to control brake lockup on a car without ABS, or how to counter steer to avoid a spin with some sort of stability control pretty much standard on all cars these days. This Corolla seems like the perfect road tripper for 2 people..but if I owned it I would put a little dynamat in the wheel wells, and maybe some in the front doors and under the carpet in the front. Other than the tire roar from the 18" wheels being annoying on a long drive, that thing pretty much drives itself and even watches out for speed limit signs the driver misses. All that and more were only found on something like a Merc S class 20 years ago, and probably didn't work as well.

    What toyota needs to improve is the way the assemble the interior. I've got some small rattles around in my 2019 corolla touring, and have found out that there is nearly NO felt tape used between the plastic parts in the interior, så i've started the upgrade process. In the winter the squeaks and rattles gets annoying.

    Thanks for the video. I have a 2021 Corolla ZR hybrid. Your clear and easy instructions made it a breeze for me to install these horns using the Toyota adapter. I placed one horn in the original horn position and the other to the same spot on the opposite side of the grill so the sound may balance better- maybe it won’t make a difference at all. I did have to solder one of the little wires to a longer wire to reach. Now my little red car has a big loud voice. Watch out motorists!

  • @GrizDrummer25

    Installed mine and am not getting any sound. I can try better attaching the ground wire, but other than that I'm not seeing any glaring mistakes :/

  • @DogsSnipes
    @DogsSnipes Жыл бұрын

    Did you insert the red wire into the black adapter properly? You could also try doing one horn at a time without the harness to see if both horns work. If neither work on its own, but your OEM horn works, then you likely got a defective horn

  • @GrizDrummer25
    @GrizDrummer25 Жыл бұрын

    @@DogsSnipes I reseated the red wire and trimmed it back a bit because they stripped like an entire inch. I also made sure the ground wires were properly attached and that did it :) so yay for big-boy horn, lol

    Hi, do I need a relay on this set up with a single horn? Thanks

  • @DogsSnipes
    @DogsSnipes Жыл бұрын

    They relay is needed if you're changing from a 1 horn setup to a 2 horn setup, which is the case in this video. However, if you're getting just 1 horn, then you don't need the harness, you' d just be swapping the horn out
