    This is a great trip through NY and other states. I am planning to go to lake Placid sometimes after I retire at the end of this year. It is not easy to do even in a car. There is no way I can do it today on a bike, considering my age. Great job. Hopefully we can meet one day. I am also riding 2014 Valkyrie, but 1800 cc. Great bike, lots of fun.

    Never wanted to do an IBA ride....then they started one near me and a charity would benefit. I decided there was nothing to lose because the charity would win. The group had a hundered Bikes and about 120 riders. I didn't know what to expect when we went out at 0500. Some unsupervised humans made a race out of it, but that thinned the group, ha. Then folks did their own rest/fuel stops and quickly I was my own group. Our halfway point was a store where you bought anything, to bring back proff of being there. I returned with three hours to spare, and there were still riders out there someplace. Maybe they just went home.

    @@Paint_Can it’s funny that the speed limit there used to be 55 before it got so much attention. 30 is about the slowest I go there. It’s also hilarious that a speeding ticket there is like $30 for 30 over and doesn’t go on you driving record if you pay it within 2 weeks

    You should have ridden through Eastern OH, WV, KY and TN like you said the Appalachians are nice and scenic, coming down I-75 is just terrible for riding. I ride to Prestonsburg, KY from time to time and the back roads are the best way to go.

  • @Paint_Can

    GPS helps but basically go in a straight line where there’s no possible shortcuts and over run your miles by 5% or more. I’d hate to go 1000 miles and not get certified. I just did another iron butt 2 days ago. lol

    I got to say I got to give you much respect. Driving around something that big is not something I could ever do. I drive fire trucks, I drive ambulances, I drive paramedic fly cars. Something with a trailer = NOT my friend. Even my F-150. I love how dark it is out there at night. Great place for stargazing compared to Buffalo city lights.

  • @Paint_Can
    @Paint_Can2 ай бұрын

    With the exception of intersections the bigger the trailer the better. It rides better and longer trailers don’t react as quickly so they go back straight much easier than shorter ones. Keep up the good work in the fire and EMS service, I have over 29 years in and 2 years as chief. To me it’s awesome to be a volunteer and help people
