I have two D700s
Or Grab an old Pentax DSLR CCD sensor and use k mount lenses. Many of us have a few from the old film days. Great fun for peanuts.
I recently picked up one of these, and liked it so much I bought another as a backup. Less that $50 ea. DSLR prices appear to be bottoming out. I enjoyed your pictures a lot.
Totally agree!
This is a great tip. I have the pop up flash for my D700, D610, D750, and D810.
I found and bought A Nikon N55 "outfit" in the box just last (3 days ago) Saturday. Stopped and got some batteries and it fired right up. Can't wait to run a roll through it, at F8-11 of course. I agree, Steve O'Nions is pretty awesome. Great video.
That is awesome!
Buying new in 2024, who’s got the best sales & customer service and best price in and the local Los Angeles are close by or by mail ? I’m seeing $2,400 in August ‘24

Does it do good photographing people? Like a portrait
Yes, sure
Wish my D3 had a pop up.
That would be great :)
I use it to control speed lights. Like a boss.
Still have mine. Sadly sensor is bad… The most comfortable camera to ever hold. Keep tossing in batteries hoping it will work…but no such luck.
OH NOOO sad to hear about your S2 pro... But $350 gets you a new (used) friend... www.ebay.com/itm/387187544936?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&srsltid=AfmBOorlhXBRyyG6FWD_3yIrtjW0RbUJRSmqS2cfdjayvCQRB3ncJQZbM8k
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography thought about that many many times. I used it professionally from when it was released for over 10 years…and then one day the weird banding started and then the rest of the sensor went.

I have had the F1.8 version for thirty years - it's outstanding. I see you can pick them up for pennies now.

I just bought my 10 year old son 🧒 a D300S with an 18-200 VR in like new condition for less than $300! He’s already taking some great photographs with it. Built like a tank compared to my D7100! Wonderful love from South Africa 🇿🇦

How do you adjust the aperture?
@@smilinswami2195 Match-Matic C3 camera, you can turn a small tin with an indicator line: 1. Turn the tin Turn the tin to change the aperture. The Match-Matic C3 uses "additive" numbers for lens openings, so each higher number lets in half as much light as the previous one. For example, 3.5 is 3.5, 4 is 4, 5 is 5.6, 6 is 8, 7 is 11, and 8+ is 16. 2. Consider the depth of field The aperture setting also determines the range of distance that will be in sharp focus in your picture, known as the depth of field. Smaller f-stops (3.5, 4) will result in a shorter range of sharp focus, while larger f-stops (11, 16) will result in a sharper focus of objects in front of and behind the subject

I've got this lens with a Konica mount ( Vivitar 200mm F 3.5 - F 16 with a built in hood made by Komine in Japan ). Sounds like a similar lens. I believe using it on my Olympus MFT EM1 with a 2 times crop factor it ends up being a 400mm lens. Great video and pictures !!!!

My dream camera
The cheapest price for the Leica SL, used, and with a 365 day warranty, is Leica of SOHO on line :)
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography Happy for you
Me personally think the pentax lenses were some of the best of all time.
I have had 2 10d cameras but got caught in the megapixel wars and got rid of them might buy another one as a beater camera to keep in my car
Thanks for this Carmine, I love the b&w jpegs I get from my Leica Q1! ✌️🇦🇺
So cool!
Great lens and price. Have you tried the SmC 100 f4 in m42? How do you think it would compare with a 2x extender to the 200?
As far as tele-extenders go, I advise Not using them. Purchase the focal length you desire. It's like, if you wear size 8 shoes, you should buy size 8. Don't buy size 4 and then buy a shoe extender to stretch it to size 8 😊😊
