Geoff Claydon

Old and interesting cine film from my own collection they range from the 1930's on, plus some of my own videos of more recent events.
Welcome to my KZread channel! Join me on a nostalgic journey through time as I present a captivating showcase of vintage cine films. For years, I've collected these treasured pieces of history. Now, having retired from work, I'm able to dedicate a lot more time to organizing and digitizing them. Any interesting footage that I find, I upload to my channel, ensuring these cherished memories are preserved and never lost.

Went there about 3 months ago . Unlike in this great video it’s just a dump . We didn’t even feel safe . What’s gone wrong.

Lovely to watch this, simpler times. The footage at the start is definitely Margate carnival at the start of the parade in Cliftonville. Thanks for sharing

Anyone remember the Dalek they had there ? You could sit inside it and record some nonsense which was pressed onto a 7” record. It popped out of the Dalek when it was finished. Sounded dreadful but I wish I still had the one I made.

What a lovely film, and beautiful music. In the summer of 1965 as an eight-year-old I stayed at the St Andrew's guest house overlooking the harbour, clearly visible in this film, with my parents and elder sister.

No.36 was next to the old Angel Islington tube station, at the extreme left can be seen Upper st. That corner was redeveloped rather hideously in the late 1980s

Thanks for the memories. I remember very well the girls handing out no8 rock in full costume outside my Dads rock shop in Llandudno. Hard to believe how big that industry was back then. Thanks again.

I did a summer-season working in hotels at Newquay when the Beach Boys were in their pomp. Sand, sea, surfing, beautiful chamber-maids and waitresses and me in my prime wearing Baggies - dark glasses - the works - Happy Day !

Thanks for this. As a South Londoner the only pub I've been in here is the Half Moon in Islington but it's so so nice to be back in the 70s, when people were just nicer to each other.

15:59 The Greyhound brings back some memories! :) As a young Irish lad of 16 (yes, under-age drinking ha ha!) I used to go in there at lunchtime as we were working on renovating a couple of buildings further up (beside the employment exchange - well, it was then!) all the way back in 1983! Where do the years go, eh?

Pubs had their own vibes and identities a little more characterfully than they do now..... in my humble opinion.... and they were part of life.... loads of them, going out, grab a pub meal at lunch, passing by a pub, sit in their ambience for an hour with a drink, wherever you were in London.. history was there.... then they updated them, then they closed most of them

Funny to read of people waxing poetic about the 70s. Times are different for everyone of course. They were a lousy time for me but every era is either good for bad depending on the person's situation. These videos are fun to watch either way.

Loverly days. All destroyed now by traitors in our own governments. It’s like a third world shit hole now thank to traitors giving our country away to the third world. It’s a stinking toilet now. In one generation it’s become unrecognisable. England is finished because of immigration. Enock Powell was right about it.
