Cool Tools

Cool Tools

Cool tools really work. A cool tool can be any book, gadget, software, video, map, hardware, material, or website that is tried and true. Our reviews are written by readers who have actually used the tool and others like it. Items can be either old or new as long as they are wonderful. We review things we like and ignore the rest. Suggestions for tools much better than what is recommended here are always wanted.

Kevin was bad at hiding his disdain for the non-millionaire community presenters this past year. Note for Kevin: Most people don't give a sht about your poverty safari walks in other countries with other out-of-touch millionaires. Especially with writers that think it's a good idea to keep plugging their New York Times work.

This strainer is not worth it, as it's tall enough to stop water from fully draining. It works in a pinch, but in the long run, best to actually replace the drain with a better system.

I didn't know those things existed. I was just attempting the same thing, but using Dupont pins. It was better than raw wire, but still not optimal - those things look much better.

Sometimes the steel ball won’t catch and it will loosen . The metal tab holding the ball in place sometimes needs to be bent inward a bit . I like them but they can be finnicky

PTFE wire's even better as the insulation's even finer, permitting a higher current, along with perfect for ultra fine space.

I've been rocking this key organizer for over a decade myself. The first one I bought lasted about a decade, before the metal started to wear out just enough that a ring would slip out occasionally... That's not a knock on the key ring. The fact that it lasted nearly 10 years of daily use and abuse should tell you it's a well made product. Love this thing. I have couple of them, so that I can keep a bunch of micro EDC tools on a spare and swap them out as needed. I love how you dug up the patent history and various brands. Good work, Bro.

Hey guys, thank you for the video! Can't wait to get a set of these. I just wanted to offer a little tip because you had said as far as you know dremel is the only company making those types. I actually saw another brand at Walmart, Hart tools also has rotary tools and accessories and they make these as well and are cheaper than Dremel brand!

That's awesome. I have one that belonged to my dad. I have no idea how old it is. Add a set of hex drive drill bits and it would be a fantastic off-grid tool. EDIT: Does anyone know of a drill bit chuck adapter for a 3/8 drive speed handle?
