  As I have gotten older there are things that I can not eat. That omlette used to love now can not handle the oil. Too much.

  The boundary changed in 1974, so a lot of folk born before '74 still consider it to be Yorkshire. These days it's under the Greater Manchester boundary.

  Its a shithole I live close to it! And all you see is drunks drug addicts thieves sat on the empty market stalls causing trouble plus smoking weed sadly! It used to be a nice little town 15 years ago!!!

  Hi as ex Saddleworth resident living now in New Zealand Saddleworth was always in the West Riding of Yorkshire and the mill you pointed to was a woollen mill as were most of the ones in the district .I used to work at that mill .

  Had to smile about the comment of a lack of through traffic. Before the A303 was built, that road was the main route from London to the West Country and I can remember looking out of my bedroom window in the Kings Arms and seeing stationary traffic which seemed to last all day, during the Summer.
