Bisbone Ranch

Bisbone Ranch

We are Mark and Heather, a couple of nomads on a quest to find purpose and growth. We gave up city life in 2023, sold our home and purchased 40 acres of land in Southern Arizona. Join us as we build an off grid, self sufficient homestead out of dirt, clay and sand. All the while staying focused on what is important to us; living in harmony with nature, community, family, learning new skills along the way through hands on hard work and doing it all debt free!

Very cool. I'm a big fan of ferrocement construction and this application could work well with that. Keep on discovering.

So how safe or fireproof is this foam? Can you barbecue safely next to it?

Now buy a bunch of mylar-coated plastic emergency blankets and glue/paint them over the foam. That will reflect the infra-red end of the spectrum, keeping you warmer and cooler.

Any living structure needs to breathe. Foam insulated houses are so air tight the indoor air quality is terrible. They have developed ways to bring in outdoor air via hvac systems using air quality sensors. Your house is an air quality disaster. Please do some research before its to lare

I'd recommend consulting actal chemists/scientists on the safety of these chemicals. Board certified contractors or smth, not your neighbor friendly hippie who's still "experimenting", hs educated and only learned to read labels

Screw the haters😂. People think I am crazy cause i tell them i want to luve underground😂. Just the thought of my home staying cool year round without havibg to use a AC would be great for me. The closer to 65 degrees the better I feel. I hate being hot😂. Sucks cause I live in the south too. These kind of remind me of a hobbit homes. I was looking at building one for myself. Now I may have to look into something lome this. Just the building requirements are crazy here in Georgia😢.

😂 Didn't like the white paint till I seen that it was just used as a primer😂. Love the color and the idea of using different materials to make a home. Not sure how much rain y'all receive there but a French drain around it might be needed to keep the erosion down. If not much rain it will probably be fine. Love the home though for sure. I have always wanted to live underground myself.

Wow what an amazing idea and very very cheap and affordable I can see an entire town or community built like this in the house crisis that everyone is having with costs rising wicked all around it could have used another layer of foam to hide the steel bars but you can also build the inside with wood framing and drywall to make it look modern and finished real home feeling. keep up the hard work love it.
