Okay I don't know if you care, since that must have been a _colossal_ time investment and you might not want to touch the site again for a bit, but I found a typo in one of your headers while reading through; it's "subseqeunt times" instead of "subsequent times" at /ttyd/?location=rogueport02, in the Zess T section. EDIT: There are actually several instances of that error scattered around. I'm going through the whole site, since the dialogue is hilarious, but also because I missed some on my playthrough of the original. The inefficient dialogue finally came to bite Nintendo in the ass as since you can’t skip “new” text that you haven’t read before in the remake, it results in tons of npcs repeating the same dialogue when you check between chapters and yet the game doesn’t let you skip it since it’s technically new. In this scene, Grodus commands you to stop, or he will kill Princess Peach on the spot. So if you choose not to fight, you are obeying him for the sake of the Princess's safety. And yet, both of Grodus' questions are implying the opposite. He accuses you of defying him, and of disregarding Princess Peach's safety.
@TheWarburnerАй бұрын
@@DisableYT Thanks for replying! I guess I kind of see it differently? Like I can totally understand how it could be seen as a mistake, but I still see an alternate way of viewing this specific dialogue. To me, this choice is an illusion. Both options lead to the same answer, which is common in games that let you choose an answer, specifically Mario/Nintendo games. Grodus' has already been defeated, the battle is over. He says you need to stop fighting or he'll end Peach's life. To me, that's just a lie to get some sort of edge on you as a final tactic. If you continue to attack despite his threat, he gets angry that you would defy him and put Peach's safety at risk. If you stop attacking as he commands, him saying "Do you dare defy me? Do you not care for the life of your pitiful princess?" could be taken differently, as in "You've come this far, attempting to defy me, and you would even go as far as putting the very Princess you wished to save into more danger?" But that's just the way I personally view it. I may be incorrect, but to me it seems to be more up to our own interpretation.
@DisableYTАй бұрын
@@TheWarburner I could see that if the answer was the same regardless, but if you choose to fight him, his response does change. He'll instead say "Stop your blubbering! This is it! Meet your end!!" It seems to imply Grodus thinks he can continue his assault uncontested, which I think is more fitting for the "Don't attack" option. Though I do find that one less objectionable than the one I mentioned in my video.
