Heat is way too high - 250 for 2 hours, flip 250 for 2 hours and check. You don’t need it to be brown, you need it to be dried out hard as a rock - if you can bite it is is NOT dry enough

I’ve had an idea for a homemade MRE/Emergency Ration that pairs a hard tack biscuit with a pemmican square. If they last as long as everyone says they do, I should be set when a tor-huri-quake hits.

This is all dependant upon the assumption that you've done all your prep work and also have good equipment and materials. You can do this all you want, but if you're shooting crap ammo out of a crap rifle, it won't help you.

I have one of the original special police rem 700 s. It had an HS Precision stock and stainless barrel 24" and the prefered safety that would allow running the bolt with safety on. It had a meadiame heavy barrel and would shoot 1/2 to 5/8 inch groups all day. After 25 years it is still the most accurate rifle I have, and I have a lot of rifles. Oh ya, .308 win 10" twist

That comparator is not the tool to use measuring o gives. The second group was horizontally strung. Just a different pattern from barrel harmonics. The comparator is .009 bigger then the bullet diameter but the actual ogive is only should be compared .003 from bullet diameter. I use my vld seating stem to ogive along with the comparator at the base of boat tails. Zero comparator and stem, then zero the bullet and compare the bullets for the same oal

Loved the video, I would add one thing. If your working with range brass be sure to trim your cases to a uniform length, it will help in not under seating or over seating the bullet. Just my .2 cents, I'm distracted by a Victoria Secrets catalog..

to make sure the Hornady Overall Length Gauge is very accurate you should remove the plastic plunger and file down the round end to a finer point so when it touches the bullet base the area it touches is much smaller. my three different 223 bullets use to be + - .030 and after filing end down it is now + - .010. BETTER FOR SURE. why you ask, the bullet base is not 100% perpendicular to the bullets concentricity.

I do the same, but, with a slight twist. Once I get a cartridge that 'works', I take 1 brass & bullet, assemble it (no powder or primer) and then write on the brass the O.A.C.L., bullet type, manufacturer & #, seating depth, then the B.C.T.O (bottom of case to ogive) for future reference.
