@@scottscheuerman8714 ya, it definitely does. I really only use the brownie in the field or in situations where I am really underpowered because it decreases my RPM splits down to about 250, which can be helpful

By the look of what we see out the windshield, a cow would have to walk a long way to get a belly full Never had a semi to move them , but taking cows to spring pasture was a joy . Those old girls knew where they were headed , and loaded pretty easy . Other end they came out the door , dropped their heads and started eating at a fast walk

Im trying to understand the transmission. Its two stick, but 1 looks like an old school 13 speed shift knob, with a hi-low shift under it. But most twin sticks dont use an air shift, so WTF?

I drove a 1965 2 axle narrow nose Pete with a 335 Cummins and a 4x4. It was my most favorite truck I ever drove in my 42 yr career starting in 1982. Thanks for the memories!

Awesome KW! I have never seen a truck with a 13 speed and a brownie box. I remember you mentioned in your other video that the brownie has 3 gears. Would that be under drive, direct and overdrive? Or low low, under drive and direct? Does that mean that potentially you have 39 forward gears?

Under, direct, and over. Yup, 39 gears. Really very little good reason to have it. Although I use the under in the field picking up hay. I little the twin sticks look for 1. And 2, it would have cost more money to remove it because the driveline would have needed a carrier bearing added. Thanks for the compliment!

Whats it like without air conditioning. It airconditioned, twin aftermaket on the dash. No power stearing must be har d. Shes got arm 1strong power stear .ing. Low horse powed mu st be rugard. Shes got lots of HP, around 120. All jokes aside great to see an old girl out working and not a museum piece just for shows etc. I love early trucks. As a kid in the 60s i would see a semi trailer in the town and dream of driving one. Sadly never got there. Great video and hope the old girl can see many more miles.

It really nice to see a vintage Kenworth out on the road. yours looks and sounds sounds really healthy. My uncle started a logging company in the late 60's in Yamhill, OR with a 57 Kenworth.
