My Harvey water softener block salt holders are full up with water when i put salt in it just dissolves rapidly do you know what could cause this ?
There are many probable causes. Check the comments. 👍🏻
How do I contact the water boy can I send him unit for rebuild
after watching untold videos, finally found the one i needed,, OMG, brilliant !! mine had a leak, and only really needed the end on how to fire it up again. superb👏👏👏. regens completed as instructed,, but just don’t know if it’s working now though,,😂
My Harvey H20 has sprung a leak at the sonic weld to the water inlet. Is there a quick fix for this sort of thing, e.g. epoxy putty? Thanks
Not for me to suggest a bodge! Change the part is my advice - sorry!
Well what a brilliant instruction video, so well explained and obviously not the first one he has overhauled ! Many Thanks. One of the best softners on the market.
Thank you. I had replaced my after filter, and it wasn't leaking. But there was no preassure, no water coming from my faucet. So I removed it and looked at that blue indicator. Then I put it on again and it popped up this time. Thanks.
Thank you for your video, it’s really useful. I do have a question. My brine tank seems to continue to fill up. I can only presume it could be the float at the bottom although it looks clean. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Cheers, Toni
The float valve is the obvious, but there are other possibilities. Check the corners of the uprising pipes, the injector and the welded plug under the shuttle valve.
Great video, exactly what I needed and one of the best softener videos on KZread. Only advice would be to change the video thumbnail, I didn’t click on it initially as it was just showing the little blue gear 👍
hi mate - my units resin is now really bad and shot basically, how can i replace the resin please with new one ?
Harvey's supply pre filled replacement tanks, although it is not totally impossible to refill them.
I was sad after the results…..
My little boy went to bed in tears, but it is a good exercise that nothing in life is guaranteed and we win some and we loose some. On to the Lionesses now.
What a way to come second to an amazing Spanish team. Thanks for the views.
😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the view

Come on spain
Thanks for the view
I changed the shuttle valve 2 years ago with a LOT of help from this video.....but after a quiet spell, problems persist. The softener is always getting stuck and pushing water out at a high rate of knots. Regenerations are getting longer and longer too. I will check the injector next and watch the whole video again. Thanks for this.
Hey bud, thanks for the video. Look, I am working directly with a staff member for Michigan's Attorney General. I am finding it very difficult to get any information on the types of contaminants that can or may be rereleased back into the water if a water softener is never maintained. The best I can find are articles that just say "contaminants can be released back into the water if softener go unmaintained". But nothing about what contaminants nor how long for each contaminant is it likely to take. And several other questions. The case revolves around a company that rents these to over 10,000 Michigan residents but performs no maintenance nor even tells the consumer that maintenance is a requirement. Thank you for any help that you can give me in this matter. Thanks again for the video.
hi quick question, whats the difference between turning the manual regen 180 degrees and returning back to zero and a full 360 turn? i noted in one of your videos you seggested 180. thanks
Very interesting, thank you for sharing.
Great vid thanks, do you sell seal kits for these? Checked the links but can't see any. Thanks :)
Great video! Where could I purchase a pair of those stainless steel inlet and outlet elbows from for a Harvey H20 please? (Or maybe they come pre-attached to a braided hose?).
How long do u need.
Do you all have the manual and specifications on this unit you can share?
Please make an enquiry with AQUAPHOR UK for help
Great video, i have Continuous slow water drain from shuttle valve on H20 9 years old Harveys twintec dualflow now and initially high water flow when the problem started but switched off by pass valves for 24 hrs and now slow drain of water. What could be the reason for this ?
Hello - I’m getting error code 3 from my eco water unit. Motor continues to run and leaks out of the drain pipe because of this. Any tips on what I should replace?
Can I bypass my eco system water softener?
Great vid - thanks. I have brine contaminating softened water - what is likely to be the problem?
Salty water?
Thanks
Thanks
My 8 year old Homewater shit the bed this morning (gushing out of what I would call a tundish under the sink like it was just straight mains). It's been trickling out for a few days as if it was taking hours to complete it's cycle and then this morning it gave out after making an interesting noise as I opened the kitchen tap. Thanks so much for this video, It's given a handy man a little more confidence to tear into the thing and see what doesn't look right.
I have the same problem and will be watching again to see if I can identify it. Please let me know if you find anything.
I shall follow up and say the shuttle valve was dead. Sadly you can't just buy the tiny valve inside whos rubbery coating had perished and so instead I had to buy a whole new part for £125 but the softener is back up and running once more. I have a reminder set for every 3 months to test the water to see when I might need to do the resin.
@GreatWesternTech sorry I didn't see this, check my reply to myself and see what my issue was.
Thanks alot. My Kinetico usese 60l of water for one regeneration, one regeneration in 24H, that it is lots of water. Can you let me know what I should do??
Sorry. I would need to know model, water usage, disc, hardness. I wouldn't want to guess it.
@@TheWaterBoyuk Thanks for reply. I had actually a dealer here, different company then kinetico. He confirmed that the Kinetico does not have any problem but it does not match the capacity needed. We are 14 people in the house, nobody takes care, we use 1.5m3 per day minium. I did lots of investigation on it and the model I have it is Kinetico DuoMatik II, Winterhalter company in Germany use them for comercial dishwashers. They have 2 tanks each of about 5l. I tried to contact the winterhalter company but they have no interest to help if I did not buy from them. During the weekend when we are only 3 people in the house, there is no regeneration at all, this somehow confirms me what the dealer said. Of course he wants to sell me his machine for 5000 tax+instalation. My idea it is to buy bigger tanks 41 liters or even I saw 103 liters as well, buy resin and it should be fine. But I am afraid the kinetico needs also some gear wheels change. I am not sure how it works regarding the gears? Do I need to change somebgears as well if I change the tanks?? The regeneration it is set up by the quantity of consumed water/ tank capacity or when it is full of calcium it regenerates? The resin I have available here it is ion exchanger for decalcification FG 160 (Na+). Here are some technical data for winterhalterkinetico Technical data: Water consumption: approx. 32 liters/regeneration Salt consumption: approx. 0.3 kg/regeneration Flow rate at 2.5-6 bar operating pressure: continuously 22 l/min maximum 30 l/min Pressure loss: approx. 1 bar Weight: approx. 21 kg (empty) Salt filling quantity: approx. 20 kg Raw water: max. 32°d The maximum permissible water temperature is: 50°C Visually it looks like this: www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/winterhalter-duomatik-ii-wasserenthaerter/2730852831-176-4808 I do have as well the spare parts list, if you want I can share it with you, here it is a list especially the gears. If needed I can open it and look at the gear you advice me to look or change??. Thanksand I appreciate a lot your input. I am not awaiting any free service from you, Ben I forget to add that the softener makes the water soft, the guy measured the PH and it was in very good parameters even with 5 l tanks, we definately can see it as well that, there is no calc on the shower glass doors, it is that 60 liters of water par ay it is quite a lot, as well lots of salt goes away.
@@TheWaterBoyuk for some reason my message did not pass
@@TheWaterBoyuk I did have somebody to look at it and he said the Kinetico works perfect but the capacity it is not for 1500l water per day. It has only 2 pressure tanks, each of 5l aprox. My quastion would be if I put bigger tanksdo I need to change some gear wheels as well?? Regeneration it is done just by sensing some pressure or it is some programed by liters consumed??
How long I need to change the resin ? 3 day ? 3 weeks ? 3 months 3 years ?
I’m in love with Mr resin
Hi mate does it increase the water pressure? As pressure on electric showers are crap..especially when the temp is high.. As how this video shows..but the mibotes are so expensive

Very helpful video, do you know if there is an overhaul kit available for the shuttle valve? Thanks
Do you sell replacements for the impeller? The pinion gear teeth are worn down on mine. Thank you
I only have gear 6 in
Hi. Thanks for the video. Where is the part where you replace the threaded inlet piece into the gearbox. You said they cracked and that's what I have.
You have to change the gearbox casing. It comes in one piece.
@TheWaterBoyuk do you have this part available to purchase please? Or is there a repair service? Just been on the phone with Harvey and they won't sell it because I'm not a "trained engineer". I will never buy or recommend their products again. I've always been impressed with it until this. Minimum fee of £135 for an engineer and he will then decide on the price of the repair as Harvey cannot quote me even though I told them what the issue is.

Hello there. Could I ask you one question please. After doing a strip down and rebuild (thank you very much!) and refilled my resin tanks with 4L each tank and also replaced the brine valve. I installed everything back and seems to be working okay apart from one think. When I connected and turned on the hard water inlet and soft outlet valves. Water started to come into the Brine Tank. The water rose to approximately 10-20cm above the salt platform. Great I thought! But after 30mins or so I noticed that the water level in the Brine Tank was rising ever so slowly (its now like 60cm). My question is: How does the water enter into the Brine Tank? I assume it comes down the brine line and into the brine valve/float mechanism. I assume this has a dual function purpose to [1] let water in and [2[ to suction up brine into the tanks for the regeneration. Thanks in advance PS The gearbox seems to work okay, as it did a regen on both tanks after I opened the taps for a few minutes.
At the very most. The brine level should be 10mm above the salt well tray. You have a leak somewhere or the new brine valve is not shutting down.
Thanks for getting back so quickly. Okay, so the water does come down via the brine valve. Thanks again. @@TheWaterBoyuk
The easiest way to test the leak is not the brine valve is to pull out the brine line from the side the injector and plug the injector with a 1/4 inch plug. If the tank keeps filling up, it's not the brine valve.
Excellent! Thank you. I will try this tomorrow morning. Earlier I meant 1-2cm and 6cm. After buying new Resin and a Brine Valve, I need the success! 🙂@@TheWaterBoyuk
plug in unit and it flashs ldo hz0
Check out the full video !
Thank you very much. Excellent Video. Thanks to you I had the confidence to strip mine down to refill both cylinder with resin ( 4L in each ). I've now reassembled and back in location. Question, if you don't mind. Whats the procedure for recommissionjng? Do I just turn the cold water valves on ( hard input and soft output )? I heard something about after that turning the white screw on top of the gearbox clockwise to regenerate one cylinder and then afterwards again for the other cylinder. Any info would be great please? Many thanks.
I probably have the commissioning/ installation instructions. Drop me your email and I'll send a copy 👍🏻
@@TheWaterBoyuk Thank you.
How much water does this unit treats? Does it have a drain for the regeneration water ?
4000 liters @300ppm. It does have a regen pipe
❤
This is quite helpfull! Thanks :)
Excellent - Great Video. I need to replace the resin. Just need to find out how...
What would happen if you accidentally swallowed some of these resin beads….?
How do you fix leaking thou?
Where is the leak coming from?
Can you help with Kinetico S250 setting? Thanks
WHERE do you get parts for these units? I have 3 that I have acquired and am going to start tearing them down but I first looked on eBay and didn't see much there...
Does anyone know how to perform a manual regen of a harvey hv4 water softener? These have two keys in top of the cylinders shaped like mushroom! That can be depressed but uncertain how and what to do! Many thanks
Where is the resin cleaner added during the maintenance? Directly on the salt or there is a special compartment? thank you
That goes in the BRINE WELL. That is the small (approximately 4") vertical tube located in the salt tank. Add resin cleaner and then start a regeneration cycle by rotating the control disc clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver until you hear it start regenerating. Let it completely regenerate on its own and you're done!
