Kidd in a Sweet Shop

Hello. I’m Jodie. Welcome to Kidd in a Sweet Shop.

My channel takes you on exciting drives and wonderful adventures. I’ve spent most of my life in love with cars. I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some epic automotive moments, from completing the Mille Miglia in a Jaguar XK120, then again in a BMW 328 Touring Roadster, to racing in the Maserati Trofeo Series, entering the Gumball 3000 in a Lamborghini Murcielago and of course a few episodes of the Classic Car Show, Clarkson: Thriller and achieving a lap time of 1 minute 48 seconds in Top Gear’s reasonably priced car. I thought it was about time we had some more fun and brought you along for the ride. Wish me luck!

Indeed, Mr. Murray says correctly that small cars can pull off bright colors. His is spectacular!! My Junior Zagato is bright blue, and I love it!

Toivonen recorded 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds in this monster in tests in Spain. This was faster then an F1 car at the time and it was not on track but on a gravel road :) Still scares the sh*t of anyone who touches it, the absolute pinnacle of the Group B madness...

The two mindsets are mind boggling. Keep it "original" even is it looks shabby with torn seats or make the car look like it should look...which is well-cared for and in very good condition. Those people who would leave the torn seats must have some sort of line in the sand. For those of you who think this way, how BAD does this car have to look before you abandon the "originality" theory and fix the car up the way it deserves to look?

I'm a great fan of your show, but I would not call this car beautiful and I am an Italian. Most Ferraris were not beautiful and were never intended to be beautiful. They were fast, they looked fast and very masculine, aggressive and some pretty. But if we say something is beautiful and it is not then we loose the value of beautiful. The E.Type jaguar is beautiful like you, but the Ferrari has not match for your beauty.

Followed Shmee for a few years. Nice guy who really knows his cars, didn’t like his manners much in gumball rally. DDE paid sponsorship to gumball and was part of gumball livery. Shmee didn’t like idea of advertising another KZreadr on his car. So he basically cut out the DDE logo and put his own. Rather naughty as the adverts on gumball livery costs 100’s1000s to sponsor event. He got pulled on it by DDE. Shmee sheepish said, “ oops sorry guys, didn’t realise. Hey we should do episode together. It obviously was going to happen. He obviously see’s them as competitors but doesn’t realise the audience watch him,DdE , Matt Armstrong, tverish ,and so on.

F1 engines of that era idles at 5000rpm, a reason why they are so loud even on standstill. The engine needs rebuilding after every race. It needs a lot of changes made to it to make it run on a Porsche for sure.

Jags V8,s, Range Rover V8S, etc etc,,the 3.5 rovers and variants are junk an alloy LS chev is cheaper to build, cheaper to run and a garden variety alloy engine and gearbox is $2500 and 400hp of no repairs and oil leaks and 6.0 and 6.2 litre and torque to get the job done,, AND THEY FIT IN MX5 mazdas no problemo.

I had the privilege of seeing this asphalt monster on the Sintra stages, what a thrill! The sound of this engine gave me goosebumps. Henri Toivonen was my favorite driver, I stopped following rallies after the fateful day he left us.
