They say over when the Satmar Rebbe ZTL first became Rov in Satmar he went for a Shabbos walk and bumped into a Yid who was smoking on Shabbos. He wished the Yid a gut Shabbos. The yid took a huge puff of his cigarette in return. The Rebbe then invited the man to come to Shalosh Seudas to his house. The man taken aback took up the offer and later went to the Rebbe for seuda. This man eventually became a Gabai for the Satmar Rebbe ZTL. Zichro Yagane Aleinu

What you should really take from that, is treating everyone like a human being, like he's important, not like he's an animal because he isn't Shomer Shabbos.

This is one of the most captivating and motivating speeches I ever heard in my life. I can't begin to express how much you inspire me as a father, a husband, and an educator. BH we finally found someone who is so passionate and who is not afraid to speak the truth. May Hashem bless you, and give you continued success and strength to help all of Am Yisrael find the their true connection in the most refined way. I am certain that this is the path that will lead us to the coming of Mashiach, במהרה בימינו אמן!!!!

B'H A presentation way overdue. Meeting the child/adolescent/young adult where he or she is is crucial. Growth for these 'niduchim,' will not necessarilly be linear - patience patience patience is a key ingredient towards collaborating with these individuals to help themselves become self- empowering with Hashem's Help.

Great cause! One thing however, you mention the rebbe said to give an aliya to a "מחלל שבת בפרהסי׳" ר"ל, the rebbe would not do anything against halacha, the definition in halacha of such a yid is complicated and I'm sure there was reason not to define that yid as such. Greatly appreciate the cause and your hisaskus in this and the general message etc. and which much hatzlocho but please be careful how you talk about the Rebbe, thank you.

Kudos Rabbi fishoff. At the core of your teaching is an idea that is central to the philosophy of Chabad, that is, the creation of neshomos predates, and precedes, the expression of hashems will through Torah and mitzvos. This is an incredible concept. The love that hashem has for the soul of a Jew is not predicated on observance of mitzvos-its a stand alone value. If people in Chabad tuned in to this idea completely, they would see their own children, that are not observing all the mitzvos, in a similar way. This is an idea I've thought about deeply And try applying to my own family. It also helps to ask oneself-is my kid obligated to keep up appearances for my sake, is that truly a Torah inspired value or just ghetto society-inspired.
