@@hotsoup4days both property taxes and home insurance are way too expensive. Medical care is not that good. Pay for workers is not in line with the current cost of living. It has become over built. Education system is poor. I don’t know how many times. I had to proof read poorly written information sent home from school. They don’t have a State income tax. They certainly have plenty of hidden taxes and fees. I don’t think I even have to mention the insane politics, and religious wackos.

Been here for 71 years growing up as a kid in the 50's to 70's in South Miami and Ft. Lauderdale which was Paradise, as every place else everything changes and nothing stays the same and will become worst, as more and more people flood our State , as it has gotten very crowded in your larger cities with crime and alot of traffic . I moved away 123 miles North to escape the crowds to the Treasure Coast in 1983 , then PSL and Ft. Pierce got very crowded . As now we retired to Sebastian and the last of the small town feel as today , now people found out about it and most people from the NE and South Florida has moved here . The population is up to 27,000 people . Vero Beach will surpass Sebastian in a few years as all the new homes that are building . PSL is overcrowded with a lot of traffic . The whole Treasure Coast will become just as crowded as South Florida . Also the West Coast and Central Florida became crowded , but there are some still nice towns in this State . The futher North you travel up the middle of the State it becomes very redneck . We are the Shark and Lightening capital of the World . and we have only 2 Seasons , No Fall or Spring . Best weather were its Nice is from after Christmas , to the first week in Easter than its starts to get Hot and Hotter and Humility is very high from June till the 1st week of October . Florida is NOT affordable as the pricing of housing and food has skyrocketed . But I haven't explored the Springs in Central Florida , as they are known as the clearist water ways and the temperature in these springs only reach 72 degrees all year round . We do get a lot of rain during the Summers and Hurricane Season starts the first of June till November .

I’m a third generation Florida native. Growing up here in the late 60s-70s, it was beautiful. Waterways were clean and clear, very little pollution. No crowds, and nobody telling us how they do things up north.. I never paid for citrus. It was everywhere.

Why all the *new* folks living on the streets? CHEAP DRUGS. Most of the new "homeless" have a home, but were kicked out by parents or spouses because of drug use. "Blues" are only $3 in Denver, one of the lowest prices in the nation. People come from as far as Milwaukee to join this Drug Addict Paradise. And if you ask them would they give up drugs for a place to live, over 70% say NO.

Notice that the richer the area or country, the wider the gap between rich and poor. Throughout human history, when the gap is wide enough, that society collapsed. We are at that point now in California and the U.S. in general. You'll see the collapse unfolding in the coming months.

Native Arizonan here. Phoenix is just the absolute worst. Flagstaff is too expensive and too far north. You want to live that far north just keep going to Utah. Prescott is too expensive. Payson is getting too expensive. Tucson is O.K. but too close to the border. Your best bet is living in the White Mountains in a little town but there is no industry up there and no jobs that aren't service jobs like in a diner or a Home Dept. You'll spend your days slingin' hash to truckers or selling siding to rich people from California who've already ruined this state.

@@hotsoup4days I actually place a lot of Blane on California's liberal politics which have made that state too expensive to live in, too full of homeless, too crime-ridden, too overly taxed and too business unfriendly. California's sold their overly-priced houses, made a tidy bundle and moved to nearby states where their dollars gave them buying power to buy up thousands of homes and other properties thereby driving up valuation here. And we Arizonans are left in the lurch wondering what the he'll now we can't afford anything. Yeah, I'm not a fan of California or Californians.
