IRL, this match would have been a prime example of dream matches that should stay dream matches, but thank god for what-if channels like this to bring it to life more effectively than WWF would at the time.

Kurt would need a lighter schedule and rehab before making his return in the 07 Royal Rumble. Since this scenario looks like it takes place in 09, I think he'd reunite with Shelton Benjamin--as per Kurt's pitch--but Jack Swagger takes Charlie Haas' place.

    - What if Mabel Was a Monster Heel in the 90s? - I've heard him cut a promo in WWECW, and I've got to say I like him as a monster heel. Let's see what happens if he'd been a monster heel from the beginning, shall we? In the summer of 1993, Mabel still wears his signature purple gear, but his gimmick is that of Big Daddy V. He debuts by tearing up jobbers left, right and center until the fall, where Tatanka engages in a feud with him instead of Bam Bam Bigelow. In the 1994 Royal Rumble PPV, the Native American manages to break Mabel's winning streak, so the big man wants a rematch at WrestleMania X. At that PPV, Tatanka was beaten so badly that the ref puts up the X. Because of his actions at Mania X, Mabel's suspended for 90s days and barred from that year's King of the Ring, but at SummerSlam, he's out for more blood, so somebody has to take him out: the Undertaker. Mabel beats the Deadman, but does he get injured? Probably, but let's say Mabel trains to enhance his wrestling in his time off to prevent hurting Taker. Either way, Mabel wins. Their rematch unfolds at the Deadman's stomping ground, Survivor Series, where he beats the biggest man...via DQ. Mabel isn't seen for the rest of the year, but he returns in the 1995 Royal Rumble, cleaning house. Thankfully, he doesn't win it, but he wants revenge on the Undertaker at Mania 11 for eliminating him. Their match is a Lumberjack match because Deadman decided to make the Lumberjacks druids. When Mabel is beaten once again, the druids remove their hoods to reveal the faces of those he eliminated. They then storm the ring and dog-pile him. This year, Mabel decides to compete in the King of the Ring. He makes it to the finals, but the British Bulldog beats him to become the King. This leads to a post-match assault where Mabel is arrested. Come SummerSlam that year, Mabel's bailed out, but he's late to the PPV, so he costs Diesel in his WWF title match against Yokozuna. The latter capitalizes to become the new WWF Champion. At In Your House 3, Mabel squashes Diesel, putting him on the shelf for a while, and In Your House 4 sees Mabel, now a babyface because the crowd loves his path of destruction, lock horns with Yokozuna for his WWF title. Can you imagine a monster like him running with that belt? Because I can. Come Survivor Series 95, Mabel and Undertaker still hate each other, but the Deadman sees that the big man can at least be more useful in the Darkside than Henry O. Godwinn. IC Champion Razor Ramon wants to do like the Ultimate Warrior did and go title-for-title against WWF Champion Mabel at Mania 12. The big man retains and Razor joins the shelf with Diesel, so the IC title is vacated. The reign of Mabel, now wearing black instead of purple, features matchups like vs. Vader, Mankind and Sycho Sid, but his feud with Undertaker is rekindled once more when he challenges The Streak at Mania 13. Taker wins...via DQ, so while Taker technically remains undefeated, Mabel retains the title. Taker dethrones him at Revenge of the Taker. Mabel disappears for a while, and yes...I'm really doing this...King of the Ring 1997...crowns him King, instead of HHH, as he last eliminates Mankind. Mankind chases King Mabel into the biggest man's first Steel Cage match at Cold Day in Hell; the winner faces WWF Champion Undertaker at SummerSlam. Of course, King Mabel comes out on top. During the match, Kane debuts earlier than IRL, costing Undertaker. King Mabel is now a 2-time WWF Champion. Taker and Kane's brotherly blood feud spills into Ground Zero, Badd Blood and Survivor Series, but for the sake of time, this story ends here.

    - What if Dustin Rhodes stayed with WWE in the 90s? - Dustin and Dusty beat Ted DiBiase and Virgil, and his father passes the torch to his son. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil chases Dustin into WrestleMania 7. The son beats the Million Dollar Man, which causes Virgil to turn on him here. He's now Dustin's muscle heading into his rematch with DiBiase at SummerSlam 91. Instead of Virgil, Dustin Rhodes joins Bret Hart, Roddy Piper and the British Bulldog at Survivor Series. Dustin dethrones IC Champion Mountie at the 1992 Royal Rumble PPV, but Bret Hart beats him at WrestleMania 8. He and returning Ricky Steamboat will form the Natural Dragons to dethrone the Beverly Brothers at SummerSlam 92, but Steamboat leaves WWF when the Natural Disasters dethrone the Dragons, so instead of Marty Janetty, Dustin challenges fellow Texan Shawn Michaels for his IC title at the 1992 Survivor Series. He dethrones him in the 1993 Royal Rumble and retains in the ladder rematch at WrestleMania 9 instead of X. IRL, Dustin would be a victim of HBK's backstage politics, but not here! He still isn't crowned the 1993 King of the Ring, but at least he still has the title; however, he's dethroned by Razor Ramon in September. Dustin chases Razor into WrestleMania X, where he beats him in a steel cage match. He finally becomes the 1994 King of the Ring and, at SummerSlam 94, challenges Bret Hart for the WWF Championship, title for title. He becomes the new WWF Champion at last. Ironically, he was the one to finish his father's Story before his younger brother. He relishes in the view from up top, but is taken back down in a Title vs. Career match at WrestleMania 11, by Razor Ramon instead of Diesel. Dustin returns later in 1995, with a new identity; the personification of his fall from grace: Goldust, vowing revenge against WWF Champion Razor Ramon at WrestleMania 12. After the biggest win of his career, Goldust claims he's the one to pick up what Dustin put down, finishing his story; however, Vader flattens him to become the new WWF Champion at SummerSlam 96. Thankfully, Undertaker was there to dethrone him at the 1997 Royal Rumble PPV. Goldust wins the Royal Rumble match; therefore, the main event of WrestleMania 13 is Goldust vs. WWF Champion Undertaker. He keeps his Streak intact, but Goldust chases him until he's dethroned by Bret Hart at SummerSlam 97 and is beaten again at Ground Zero. Meanwhile, Taker takes time off to put the pieces of his Shattered Dreams back together. At Survivor Series the same year, Chainz, 8-Ball and Skull are not lead by Crush, but the American Badass himself because those 3 Disciples of the Apocalypse are all the Deadman's cousins. They face Team Canada while Goldust feuds with Mick Foley. In January 1998, the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust debuts in the 1998 Royal Rumble and continues his feud with Mick. This comes to a head at Mania 14: 3 different matches throughout 1 PPV; 3 Stages of Hell in 1 abandoned warehouse: Dustkind vs. Mankind; Dust Lovedust vs. Dude Love; Cactus Dust vs. Cactus Jack. For the sake of time, I'll end this story here.

    - What if Ric Flair debuted in WWF in 1988? (1988-1990) - - Ric Flair wins the inaugural Royal Rumble, but Randy Savage becomes the WWF Champion at Mania 4 - Flair dethrones King Harley Race - Instead of the Mega Bucks, Savage and Hogan combat King Flair and Greg Valentine - Savage, Hogan, Brutus Beefcake and Hacksaw Jim Duggan combat King Flair, Valentine, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard--none other than the Four Horsemen w/Bobby Heenan--at Survivor Series; the Horsemen win - Flair dethrones Savage at the 89 Royal Rumble PPV before stealing a kiss from Elizabeth (WOO!); Hogan wins the 1989 Royal Rumble, meaning the main event of Mania 5 will be a triple-threat between Hogan, Savage and King Flair; Hogan pins Flair, but not Savage, so their feud continues - Meanwhile, the Rockers topple Big Boss Man and Akeem; Brainbusters dethrone Demolition to become the new Tag Team Champions; and Greg Valentine dethrones the Ultimate Warrior via interference from the Brainbusters - King Flair is dethroned by Randy Savage; the Macho King has risen - Macho King chases Hogan into SummerSlam 89; Valentine costs Hulkster so the Macho King can dethrone him because it wouldn't be smart for Flair to cost him since Savage still hates him as much as he does Hogan - Meanwhile, Warrior dethrones Valentine to become the new IC Champion; and the Rockers dethrone the Brainbusters to become the new Tag Team Champions - Bobby Heenan reunites the Four Horsemen to battle Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and the Rockers at Survivor Series 89; Team Hogan wins once more due to HBK pinning Tully, which causes Flair to disband the Horsemen for good - When 1990 rolls around, Flair is on his own, as a babyface - In a shocking upset, Flair wins the 1990 Royal Rumble and is ready for a rematch with Hogan at Mania 6 - He's seen the error of his ways as of late, but he's still no saint; no matter what, he will always be the limousine ridin', jet flyin', kiss stealin', wheelin'-dealin' son of a gun, stylin' and profilin' in the pale moonlight, all the way to WrestleMania 6 - The two walk down the aisle, but Flair walks out the champion, but not before suffering a post-match assault...from Hogan, because god forbid we have a face-on-face match between 2 of the biggest egos in all of wrestling end honorably - "YOU FANS CAN STICK IT, BROTHER!"

    - What if The Godfather debuted early? (1992-1995) - - The Godfather debuts in the 1992 Royal Rumble. - After elimination, you could tell something strange is happening to him; he looks angry and...nauseous. - Come Saturday Night's Main Event XXX, Papa Shango debuts to squash a jobber. - After that, Kama Mustafa debuts to squash another jobber, but he says he has no idea what's been going on as of late: in the Rumble, he remembers being the happiest man alive, but after he was eliminated, he remembers being pissed off, then something taking control of his body...but nothing else after that. - His first big feud is against the Undertaker, who knows a thing or 2 about Papa Shango, and tries to take advantage of that to make him his minion, to which Kama responded, "What?! Never! I don't even know who this Papa Shango is!" - Heading into WrestleMania 8, Kama is the Godfather because he figures it's the best way to combat the Deadman; however, the Deadman adds another to his coveted Streak, which means Papa Shango has now taken over, doomed to partner with the Undertaker for some time. - Instead of the Natural Disasters, Taker and Shango become the new tag team champions, but it's not like they cared, anyway; they were more interested in carving their path of destruction. - They hold onto the belts for a while, but are dethroned at Survivor Series by Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect; those 2 already beat Flair and Ramon clean at Saturday Night's Main Event. - The team splits up; Kama Mustafa returns in the 1993 Royal Rumble, but Undertaker eliminates him. - The 2 feud at WrestleMania, but Taker wants Papa Shango, not Kama. - Thank God Kama's free from the Deadman's control, but he doesn't feel better yet; he's still in the middle of a hurricane. - In order to make peace with himself, he must come clean: yes, Kama actually owns a strip joint in Vegas, and he has an entire voodoo library at home. Everything you see on Papa Shango comes from voodoo legends and stories. He enjoys voodoo as much as he does his women and money, but there's no forgiving the Deadman for taking advantage of his voodoo curse and making Papa Shango, the demon that haunts him still, into his puppet. - His feud with the Deadman continues, from King of the Ring until SummerSlam 93, where the rubber match sees the 2 surrounded by a steel cage. The victorious Kama brought back the Godfather on his own terms. - Now that he's free from the Deadman entirely, he's going after the IC title; instead of vacating it, HBK gets dethroned on RAW as punishment for testing positive for steroids. HBK complains about that being a fluke. - Godfather and HBK are a lot alike: they're both handsome and love their money and women, but they share the same problem: something gets the better of them. What separates them is whereas Papa Shango took control of him for some time, it's not the case anymore. HBK's situation, on the other hand, is his ego, his own Papa Shango, always gets the better of him. It causes him to take shortcuts and get suspended for it as a result. At Survivor Series, let's put that ego to bed, shall we? - HBK beats Godfather via a screwy finish at Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble sees him retain clean. - Kama's back again, in the 1994 Rumble match; back in an emotional struggle with Papa Shango. Before dropping the IC title, he's convinced himself that he was free of the witch doctor, but apparently not. - Before things go from bad to worse, Kama takes the rest of the year off. Come the 1995 Royal Rumble PPV, it's teased that Kama Mustafa's coming back, but as whom? Only one way to find out. - The answer is--LIGHTS OUT...Papa Shango. - In Kama's time off, he's let that hatred and resentment for HBK consume him, opening the door for Papa Shango to control him once more, just without the Deadman. HBK eliminates him from the Rumble, but so is HBK, at the same time. Now there's only one way to break these 2 apart: an "I Quit" match at WrestleMania. Let's see what HBK's really made of. - Nothing, that's what. He's selling the hell out of a curse in the middle of the ring until he bellows out a final "I QUIIIIIIIIIT...!" before the lights go out. When they come back on, HBK's body's gone; Shango stands in the middle of the ring and laughs. - Perfect; now to get that IC title back. Kiss your ass goodbye, Jeff Jarrett. - Shango has a dominant run with the belt until In Your House 4, where Razor Ramon, who has to turn face, dethrones the witch doctor. - Shango chases Ramon into Survivor Series and In Your House 5, where the loser leaves WWF. For the sake of time, I won't cover 1997 because man, that year was rough.

He thinks not. - Mortis II wins, but Ted complains about the win being a fluke. - They meet again at...Fatal-4-Way...and Ted wins via elevated pin. - Mortis II takes Mark Henry's place in the WWE Championship MITB Ladder Match, where he and Ted Jr. fittingly meet once more. - Their rubber match is at SummerSlam: Miz puts his MITB briefcase on the line against Ted Jr. and Mortis II in a triple-threat since they just can't get off his back; Miz retains by pinning Ted Jr. - Miz puts his MITB on the line again at Night of Champions, this time against just Ted Jr...only for Mortis II to cost Miz so Ted Jr. can become Mr. MITB; it's like it was meant to be. - Miz wants a piece of Mortis II for costing him at Night of Champions; Mortis II wants Miz at the Hell in a Cell PPV because the latter never pinned him at SummerSlam. - Miz will make Mortis II's dreams come true at Hell in a Cell; Mortis II squashes the SOB at the PPV. - Miz and Ted Jr. chase Mortis II until Bragging Rights roll around when, apparently, they've been taken out backstage; 15 seconds later...(shattered dreams productions) - Goldust shockingly beats Mortis II with a fistful of trunks. - Goldust feels bad because Mortis II is frighteningly good looking, just like Chris Kanyon in life--God rest his soul--but that mask is in the way. - Normally, Mortis II would appreciate another man complimenting his good looks, but Goldust? First off, he doesn't swing that way, but to each their own. Second, he's way too old. And 3rd, the 90s just called; they want their gimmick back. - Goldust scoffed; "You're one to talk, silly boy; at Survivor Series, I'm coming for that mask, and as the dreams of Mortis II are shattered, you'll never forget the name of...Goldust." - Mortis II beats Goldust clean at Survivor Series 2010, and he's out of WWE for a while, which mean's somebody's gotta go after that mask at TLC while the angle's still unfolding. - Alberto Del Rio says Mortis II's mask is stupid. He wears it after a wrestler from a bygone era? Well, Alberto used to wear a mask too, except where he comes from, it meant family; legit wrestling royalty that King of the Ring and especially Chris Kanyon has nothing on. - Mortis II was furious at Alberto throwing his mentor under the bus like that; two can play at that game. Mil Mascaras sucked ass! Yes, he wrestled in MSG shows in WWWF in the 70s, but his 1996 Royal Rumble appearance saw a shell of a man who once was who didn't know what he was doing and, frankly, should have hung it up before embarrassing himself, but no; his ego demanded more, which is why he was never satisfied unless he had easy prey. - It would seem that arrogance passed onto Del Rio. - Dos Caras Jr. returns to squash and unmask Mortis II at TLC before ripping the mask in half; now the man behind the mask has to come up with a new identity. - Luckily, vignettes air of this man paying tributes to Chris Kanyon again, placing the 2 halves of his Mortis II mask on his grave. He'll still continue his legacy, but in his own way. Next thing you know: here he is working out at the gym like a machine and boasting a more aggressive powerhouse wrestling style, trimming his beard, trimming his hair into a mohawk and dubbing himself the Swolverine, Brian Cage. - The Swolverine Machine debuts in the 2011 Royal Rumble, who makes it to the Final 4 before Alberto eliminates him. - Does Alberto still win the Rumble? ...Yeah; however, the Swolverine Machine wants Brodus Clay because he has unfinished business with Del Rio, and if this big guy's his bodyguard, he wouldn't have it any other way. - Ricardo Rodriguez costs Cage against Brodus in their first match, so their feud extends before the Elimination Chamber PPV; at that PPV, if Brian Cage wins, Brodus is fired as Alberto's bodyguard. Guess where that goes. - Now Alberto chases Edge's WHC with just Ricardo in his corner; without Brodus Clay to spear...what, twice? Guess what? Not only does Edge retain in a triple-threat between him, Alberto and the Swolverine Machine for the title, but EDGE'S CAREER SURVIVES! - On the post-Mania RAW, the WHC has to give kudos to Brian Cage because if it weren't for him getting rid of Brodus Clay, he would have speared himself into retirement.

    - What if Big E wasn't injured? - - New Day triple-threat at Mania 38, who sees King Woods emerge the victor, ends in embrace; so much for heel Big E - Instead of RKBro, the New Day face the Bloodline on SmackDown heading into Mania Backlash, so Randy Orton's career survives - Xavier and Kofi face the Usos and Big E challenges Roman for his Universal Championship at Mania Backlash - The Hell in a Cell PPV sees Big E getting one last chance to grab Roman's title - The Street Profits and Bianca Belair join the New Day - Big E takes Madcap Moss's place in the 2022 Men's MITB Ladder Match - Meanwhile, the Usos retain their tag titles against the Profits w/Bianca, both at MITB and SummerSlam - Big E, Xavier and Kofi beat Austin Theory and Alpha Academy in the Clash at the Castle pre-show - Instead of the Brawling Brutes, New Day feud with Imperium at Extreme Rules into Crown Jewel and Survivor Series WarGames, which is much more different - Remember the Grand Finale match at Survivor Series 1990? That will be what WarGames will culminate in - Gunther, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and the Viking Raiders beat the New Day and the Street Profits w/Belair - Erik is eliminated first; Kofi and Xavier are eliminated, so E helps the Profits eliminate Ivar; Gunther eliminates the Profits until he and Big E face off for the first time - Gunther, Sheamus and Drew survive - KO, Zayn, AJ, Theory and Rollins beat Balor, Priest, Dominik and OC, the latter of whom betrayed AJ because JD promised them more $$$ - Theory's eliminated first, which fires up the good guys to quickly eliminate Dominik; KO and Zayn work together to take out Damian, but Balor gets rid of AJ; Seth, KO and Sami work together to get rid of Balor Club and win - Logan, Kaiser, Vinci, Ridge and Butch face off against Rey, Joaquin, Del Toro, Garza and Carillo - Logan eliminates Joaquin and Del Toro on his own, but this fires up Los Lotharios to take out Ridge and Butch; meanwhile, Logan eliminates Carillo while Rey and Angel take out Kaiser and Vinci; the finish of the match sees Rey fulfill his revenge by eliminating Logan on his own, and thus, Rey and Angel survive - The Hurt Business reunite and hire Omos to combat the Bloodline - Lashley makes quick work of Solo Sikoa, but the Usos make quick work of Shelton and Cedric; Lashley and Omos eliminate Jimmy out of revenge and is about to eliminate Jey, but Roman eliminates Omos; Roman and Jey survive by eliminating Lashley together - And so, the WarGames Grand Finale is set: Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Gunther, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre face off against Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio and Angel Garza - That was fun, but back to Big E - The Profits and Bianca want to leave the New Day and go back to where they were before...but what exactly would they return to? Good thing Lashley's there to help them out - After the 2023 Royal Rumble, heading into Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 39, the New Day and All Mighty Profits w/MVP and Bianca (so Hurt Business 2.0) face off against each other in a trio feud - Instead of Seth vs. Omos, the biggest man takes Montez Ford's place at Backlash after Montez and Bianca left the Hurt Business - The New Day, while unsuccessful against MVP's boys, congratulate Montez and Bianca for harnessing the Power of Positivity to pull through and see the light, but he needs their help because now he's got 3 targets on his back - Night of Champions sees a 4-on-4 extravaganza, featuring the New Day w/Bianca and Montez against Lashley, Dawkins, Omos and Benjamin w/MVP - All 8 face off in the 2023 Men's MITB Ladder Match; home sweet home for Benjamin, but Montez ultimately wins - All 8 face off in the Slim Jim Battle Royal at SummerSlam the same year, but Bianca is dethroned by a cashing in IYO Sky, so the New Day will help her get her belt back - Meanwhile, the LWO help the New Day fend off the Hurt Business at Payback, but they get in the Hurt Business' crossfire, so the New Day can only pray for LWO's safety at Fastlane - The Hurt Business, after taking care of the LWO, get back at the New Day at Crown Jewel - We won't do another Grand Finale situation, but this year's Survivor Series calls for New Day vs. Judgment Day because Seth, Cody, Jey and Sami ask for their help against them, especially since they have Randy Orton on their side. Apparently, that's what Rhea wanted IRL, so who else to help the New Day but Kofi's friend, CM Punk? - This means Punk wins the 2024 Royal Rumble; he doesn't get injured because the New Day eliminate Drew before Punk gets Future Shocked, which means Cody has to win Elimination Chamber so he can finish his Story at WrestleMania Xtra Large while Punk gets Seth Rollins in the main event - Meanwhile, Montez faces Angelo and Big E, Kofi and Xavier face off against Lashley, Omos and Shelton Benjamin in the same PPV Always ask for help when you need it. The end

    - What if Ravishing Rick Rude Never Left WWF? - - Instead of having a dispute with Vince in 1990, Rude takes time off and comes back in the 1991 Royal Rumble - Rude is the iron man of the Rumble, eliminating Boss Man, but is still eliminated himself - Instead of Boss Man, Rude dethrones Mr. Perfect as Intercontinental Champion at Mania 7 - Rude dethrones Hogan title-for-title at SummerSlam; if Warrior could do it, so can Rude - Undertaker dethrones Rude at the Gravest Challenge at Survivor Series, where the champion recognizes Paul Bearer as his old manager from before he came into WWF: Percy Pringle - "Paul Bearer?" asks Rick, "Are you wanted in some states?"
