fun fact; kraftwerk's first time performing in north america as well as the first time kraftwerk has sang infront of an audience was during the autobahn tour in 1975
@edmundhobe22812 ай бұрын
They did a handful of European gigs earlier in 1975 prior to the US tour and "Autobahn" can be heard on two of these recordings (Leverkusen and Cologne), both performances feature the flute and Farfisa piano duet that was excised by the time they were touring North America, foreshadowing Kraftwerk's upcoming shift to a totally electronic sound (starting with the UK tour months later and then with the release of Radio-Activity).

Well, we have electronic musical instruments that can be played manually, so this makes sense. I should know; I've played manually on electronic keyboards for years. You don't always 'need' sequencers for electronic music anyway; too many electronic musicians practically depend on them nowadays. Even Kraftwerk have fallen for this trend as well, sadly. I'm not 'against' sequencers altogether; I am, however, against the overuse/over-dependence on them.

Kraftwerk was one of the inspirations for David Bowie switching up his soundscapes in the mid to late 70's. These guys, Bowie's experimentation, and the demise of proper punk clearly led to the explosion of post-punk. Some groups didn't use synths as much, but the pace and feeling was definitely there.
