Thanks mate for teaching me the proper way!
Until the 'eleets' and 'politishions' gave it all away to their @gend@s.
Oh that’s 8 minutes of my life I’m not getting back.
Miss your uploads Malc, nice short, hope you are keeping well 👍
Having grown up in Lincolnshire, I feel robbed of the (non-sausage) banger experience in my youthful experiences! 😀 Tis still a beautiful place to return to though, as I love popping back to hike around the county!
Very informative Thank you. 😊
I take it that you are using a balast coil otherwise you would need a resistor. Am I right or wrong?
Is that Brian newton 470 yellow black and red car "Team Newton" . Hard to make out.
So proud to be a LINCOLNSHIRE YELLOW BELLY and the county anthem THE LINCOLNSHIRE POACHER 👍😎👍🔴⚪️🏴🇬🇧 Apr twenty four ✨️
Another one Saltfleetby. Not pronounced Saltfleetbee like Whitby or other Viking origin names, but either Saltfleetbuy or Sollobee (Saloby) by locals.
If you chared the wood before you poured the metal it might help as the wood was probably damp causing a lot of steam, jewlers use charred wood to cast silver ingots, interesting video well done
Proud to be living in Lincolnshire, its a beautiful county. Greetings from South Holland.
HaHaahahaaa ! your using a Lucas switch ! Dim, Flicker, Off ! Sorry, I'm a Triumph Chopper Guy.

Can you do a video on the various service and diagnostics functions. Where can I find commisioning and fault checking manuals?
Good for folk going from electronic ignition back to fitting points etc. Thanks.
Best wishes Malc, I miss your story's and your tinkering. Hope you're well mate.
Cheers for showing. I needed the info for a 460. It would be nice if we got a better look on the inside. Either way: i'll try it and fingers crossed. Warm regards from the Netherlands.
1min and 30 seconds and all my questions were answered God bless

Any deficiencies noted with a Nuffield compared to a Fordson Major are usually down to operator error. Nuffield were making a modern tractor when Ford were still making the "Sit Up & Beg" E27
❤
I may have to try this setup and put a modern twist on it.
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Nice work.
Yeah you in the year of the baby jake film still on air

Hi malc it's me from the park
That, Malc, was a 3.6 volt 6500mah battery. Was.😳
Thanks Malc - not sure I'll ever get the opportunity to use the knowledge, but I'd been wondering how one used the guillotine gate.
odear karne mo no to do
Malc ,How are you?
Excellent video My lister d seems to run ok but jumps about on the trolley I will check my adjuster to see if this helps to smooth it out thanks
Could you tell me please what these watches names and what for in the switch box I just saw one it’s written on it oil what the rest for ?
Your accent got a thumbs up from me immediately, if I could give you another for the video I would. Nice working Tilley. Thanks for sharing.
Only draw back of this model is the pto engaged before the hydraulic pump which can make things tricky with mounted pto driven implements like a rotary hoe. Problem not fixed until the 460 which still had only 4 working gears and a road gear. Owned both, 460 had add on power steering. Now have Leyland 344 with loader as garden tractor. Was a great haymaking machine but in comparison to the Universal and 460 couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding.
Hi malc are you ok not heard from you in long time,
One of the best explanations ever. Thanks!!!
What it it's a positive ground? Does the live of the coil go to the points and the SW go to a capacitor and to the negetive side of the battery?
If its the 9th worst destination then "don't f@#king come!" 😀
I met Malc at the Arboretum today and can confirm to concerned commenters he's doing alright but has a shoulder injury at the moment. Lovely to chat with you and hope your shoulder heals soon - Tom x
That’s good to know. Get well soon Malc!
Thank you for letting us all know! Good to hear an update, and hope to see malc soon.
Good to hear, been wondering about malc always enjoy his videos.
Does the condenser make a bigger or smaller spark?
The condenser does 2 things. It acts as a spark quench to stop the points burning and the second thing it does is helps the magnetic field collapse faster which gives a crisp clean spark. Old mates video and explanation is absolutely 💯 correct. The only thing I would question is his coil. If you are working on an older English type car then your ignition system is +ve ground. Lucas coils were wound for positive ground. That also gave the auto transformer action which improved the spark. In a nutshell everything must line up. +ve ground battery. Generator polarised to +ve ground. Coil is wound for positive ground, (negative spark)and wired as follows. SW to battery. CB (contact breaker) to side of distributor. Ask questions if this helps. 50 years doing this.
