In John chapter 1, it is described how the Word, who was with God and was God, came into the world as the true light for all mankind. John the Baptist testifies about the coming of the Messiah, but clarifies that he himself is not the Messiah. John points to Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus is revealed as the Chosen One of God through John's testimony and the descent of the Holy Spirit upon him. Jesus begins to gather his disciples, including Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathanael, who recognize him as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Jesus promises Nathanael that he will see even greater things in the future.

In Luke chapter 24, women find Jesus' tomb empty on the first day of the week, encountering angels who announce His resurrection. The disciples initially doubt the news. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus appears to two disciples, explaining how the Scriptures foretold His suffering and resurrection. They recognize Him as He breaks bread with them before disappearing. The disciples rush back to Jerusalem, where Jesus appears to them, proving His resurrection with His wounds. He teaches them about the Scriptures, commissions them to preach repentance and forgiveness worldwide, and promises the Holy Spirit's power. He blesses them, ascends into heaven at Bethany, and the disciples return to Jerusalem with great joy, praising God at the temple.

In Luke chapter 23, Jesus is brought before Pilate by the assembly, who accuse him of subversion and claiming to be a king. Pilate finds no fault in Jesus and sends him to Herod, who interrogates him but finds no reason for charges. Herod mocks Jesus and sends him back to Pilate. Pilate offers to release Jesus or Barabbas, a prisoner, to the crowd. Despite Pilate's attempts to release Jesus, the crowd demands his crucifixion. Jesus is led to be crucified, where he speaks to the women following him and shows compassion for the criminals beside him. Darkness falls as Jesus is crucified, and he dies, with a centurion recognizing his righteousness. Joseph of Arimathea requests Jesus' body, which is placed in a tomb. The women who followed Jesus from Galilee witness these events and prepare spices and perfumes for his burial, resting on the Sabbath.

The Last Supper is also when Jesus institutes the sacrament of the Eucharist. It's not meant to be just a symbol. In Catholism and Orthodox Churchs, the bread and wine actually become the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ after the Priest says the prayer of consecration. It is true communion with Jesus!❤🕆📿

In Luke chapter 22, as the Passover approaches, the chief priests plot against Jesus, leading Judas to betray him for money. Jesus shares a final meal with his disciples, instituting the Lord's Supper and predicting Peter's denial. He then prays at the Mount of Olives, where he is betrayed by Judas and arrested. During his arrest, a disciple cuts off a servant's ear, but Jesus heals him and rebukes the violence. Jesus is brought before the council of elders, where he affirms his identity as the Son of God. Despite mockery and abuse, Jesus stands firm in his beliefs, leading to the council's decision to condemn him. This chapter highlights the events leading to Jesus' betrayal, arrest, and trial before the religious authorities.

In Luke chapter 21, Jesus observes people giving offerings at the temple, noting the sacrificial generosity of a poor widow who gave all she had. He also predicts the destruction of the temple and warns his disciples about false prophets and signs of the end times, including wars, persecution of believers, natural disasters, and the eventual return of the Son of Man. Jesus instructs his followers to be vigilant, to stand firm in their faith, and to watch for the signs signaling the coming of the kingdom of God. He emphasizes the importance of staying spiritually prepared and not being weighed down by worldly distractions, urging them to be ready for the events to come.

In Luke chapter 20, Jesus is questioned about his authority by religious leaders. He responds with a question about John the Baptist and tells a parable about tenants in a vineyard who mistreat the owner's servants and kill his son, symbolizing the rejection and judgment of God's messengers. The leaders try to trap Jesus with a question about paying taxes, but he wisely answers to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. They are unable to trap him further. Jesus discusses the resurrection, explaining that those deemed worthy in the afterlife will be like angels and not marry. He also challenges the notion of the Messiah being only a descendant of David. Jesus warns his disciples about the hypocrisy of religious leaders who seek honor and wealth while exploiting the vulnerable, predicting severe punishment for them. Throughout the chapter, Jesus teaches about authority, righteousness, and the consequences of hypocrisy.

In Luke chapter 19, Jesus enters Jericho and encounters a man named Zacchaeus, a wealthy chief tax collector who climbs a tree to see Jesus. Jesus surprises Zacchaeus by choosing to stay at his house, leading Zacchaeus to repent and pledge to give to the poor and repay those he has wronged. Jesus declares salvation for Zacchaeus and emphasizes his mission to seek and save the lost. Jesus then shares a parable about a nobleman who goes away to be appointed king and entrusts his servants with money. Upon his return, he rewards those who multiplied the money given to them but punishes the one who did nothing with it. The parable illustrates the importance of stewardship and accountability. As Jesus continues toward Jerusalem, he sends for a colt to ride on, fulfilling prophecy and entering the city amidst praise and acclamation. However, he weeps over Jerusalem, foreseeing its destruction due to not recognizing the time of God's visitation. In the temple, Jesus drives out those who are buying and selling, declaring it a house of prayer. Despite opposition from religious leaders, Jesus continues teaching, gaining the support of the people who hang on his words.

In Luke chapter 18, Jesus tells two parables: the Persistent Widow, illustrating the importance of persistent prayer, and the Pharisee and Tax Collector, highlighting the value of humility in prayer. He blesses children, emphasizing childlike faith for entering the kingdom of God. A rich ruler is told to sell his possessions, but he struggles due to his wealth. Jesus teaches that with God, all things are possible. He also heals a blind man who demonstrates faith, receiving his sight. These encounters emphasize themes of persistence in prayer, humility, childlike faith, the challenges of wealth in following God, and the power of faith for healing and salvation.
