    Does rolling actually do anything? Isn't it better to stretch?

    Everyone does this incorrectly. It’s not a sensual massage. Literally just press on a tender spot for 30 seconds, find a new spot and do the same. Even 20 seconds works. Then you can move it back and forth very very tiny like someone’s elbow or thumb digging it to it. Very small and quick movements. Those big movements don’t do anything. Has nothing to do with “blood flow.” I teach exercise science to professional trainers. It is called SMR (Self Myofascial Release). Just by pressing on a tender spot tells the Golgi Tendon Organ to release the muscle spindle fingers. That’s the release you will notice and will be less pain and it takes about 30 seconds to happen just like static stretching does but this is more isolated. The muscle fiber is in a contracted position it’s not a knot. This simply releases that

    Would one use a longer piece of tape for a very large person? How does one know how much to use? Thank you.

    Agree w/@theleneholt1909…we can’t see where you anchor second piece of tape as your hand blocks our view. Otherwise very helpful👏👍 I’m nursing rotator cuff injury, & finding ur video before I can get into PT is great!! Thx 🙏

  • @theleneholt1909
    @theleneholt19098 ай бұрын

    It would be good to have the videographer video taping application of the second tape from the left side of you, so we can see where it is anchored on the scapula because your hand is in the way when you’re describing where is anchored.

    KT tape is really fantastic. My mom will not take medicine. No Tylenol no Advil, only an Bayer Aspirin or antibiotic from doctor. She hurt her back. She is sensitive to scents, textures etc. After a week of her being in bed I was pretty desperate to help her not being so much pain so I would not at whenever I was in grocery store and I was looking in the first aid section and I saw a kinesiology tape kit I snagged it up. I watched a couple videos on how I should take her up and I taped up my mom's back and by the next morning she was starting to get out of bed and roam around a little bit🎉😅hurrah! KT Tape❤

    I suffer from nighttime shin cramps after high intensity exercise. I tried foam rolling my shins and they were extremely tender to the roller with almost no weight on them. I did feel some relief.
