I sprayed on a coating that gives it a rubber like film for future rain etc, also to help cover any welds that might have pin holes in them. I replaced the top cowling but luckily the plenum wasn’t in too bad shape. Coated plenty of sealant where the air intake holes are as well. Glad that’s all a distant memory now, the drilling out of the spot welds was a pain.

As you mentioned you cut the door along the crease to match the line. So cut the door straight threw the centre in half. Line up the bottom to sit perfect measure up the top half, trim off the excess and weld it back up. That's my opinion. 😊

Abrasive wheels work the best, it can be mighty tough to cut a Grade 8 bolt with a blade. Then I put a socket on my Makita cordless impact and spin the bolt slowly against my spinning 12" disc sander, works like a charm. If I had to use a hacksaw and file I probably wouldn't be done with the first couple of hundred I have shortened.

I’m really considering spring assisted shocks. Is the car level with them on front and back? Looks like it’s got a squat, hard to tell.
@bruceaskin96455 ай бұрын
Yes it is slightly higher in the front, but levels out when you get in it. Its also a little more floaty when driving, but this is most likely due to the shocks themselves being not so great. I am currently looking for a set of cheap standard shocks and will be re designing the spring set up so as to not require welding onto the new shock. I will also be welding the dust covers onto the underside washer. will also be buying proper coil over shocks for the rear , when I can afford to.
