Congrats on your finish! It looks great. You could switch to having your wips on vacation and at the airport. I've only been to one retreat and that was Jacob Palooza last year. Since we combined it with a family vacation I took quite a few projects. For the retreat itself I mainly worked on one project that needed fill in stitches. I also started a new project on one of the days. Have fun at the retreat and I look forward to hearing about it.

My projects are pretty portable and each project fits into a portfolio since I've started stitching mostly in hand. As such, I usually take 4-6, and I try...and usually succeed...to stitch on them all. That being said, I'm an introvert and so I tend to stay at my table and actually stitch. I have the feeling Karla, that you don't spend a lot of quiet time at your table. LOL.

I have a very special way of viewing my cross stitch projects, and might not always make sense if you think to hard about it. But since you asked I will let you know 😊. I view my projects in the same way I view a lot of my books, I usually don’t only have one book going at the same time, I have several. So when I read I usually have physical books that i read when I am outside, these represent projects that are easy to travel with, and I mostly just stitch on when I am outside my house, even if it’s just in the garden. I also have audiobooks, these are the categories that I mostly do, for reading it is because it’s easy to focus on since I can do other stuff at the same time, with cross stitching because I have for some reason or another made it a focus project. And then we have the e-books the one I do read but not always frequently, and I will often read/stitch at least once a week, sometimes it is a really good book/project so I do read/stitch a lot when it is pulled out, or I just read a chapter or two and put it away until later without being mad or sad or hating the book/project. In addition I have series I read, this is not the equivalent of SAL’s but designers. I usually always want to finish the oldest project I have from a designer or the first book in the series before moving to the next, but as Terry Pratchet fans knows sometimes the books don’t go in order and crisscross sometimes, but there is a preferred reading list, and that list I will follow even if it is read chapter 1-5 on book A then read b, and then go back to book A and finish the book. This is metaphor is often used with my Full Coverage project that is divided into large FC and small (less than 100 000 stitches) FC. And book A is larger FC and book B is smaller Fc. I will have a goal of how many pages to finish on a larger Fc project (usually getting x amount of pages, stitch count or % done, until I can push for a finish) and then a goal for a smaller FC projects (often a finish but not always). So far the metaphors is not to bad, but with this… oh well judge for yourself… I have books that I need to scratch that itch, the books you often will want to re-read or do a similar book (I do rarely want to re stitch project, so that doesn’t quite fit, but the feeling you have of those books is the projects with the same feeling, so not the same but similar type and feel) the books I pick up and just read those 4-5 chapters, or I read to get a pallet cleanser after a book-hangover, but I have no desire to read all the time. So these projects I just need once in awhile, either heavy confetti, specialty stitches, backstitching, metallics or beads, intricate Theresa Wentzler types, just other types of stitching than the regular full x, or that one project I loooove loove loove to stitch in but has 220 pages so I just don’t feel like dedicating all my time to, but still I just need to stitch on once in awhile. And since I usually never can DNF a book, I do need to finish it eventually I have my oldest book in each of the “categories” above that I do try and focus on, and depending on the book/project depends on what strategy I use, this can be a set amount each week, until I feel like pushing for a finish, or once a month take a 1-5 days and just see how much I can get done. But it doesn’t stop there. I also have the challenge books, the books that jumps ahead of the pile just because i need it for a challenge (I do also do challenges that involves reading). You also have the books you in surfing the web stumbled upon or a friend recommended that you just have to start right away. You also have the hooks you read and when your halfway through realise you need to stop because it is a series and with the amouof stuff left explained you realize it will end on a major cliffhanger your hearth can’t take, or makes you very emotional or some other reason, that makes you, instead find a good place to pause the book, until the next book in the series or a better time for you mentally or emotionally, these are the projects you will put on parole or in jail, the one you loved and know you will mostly love later but for right now you just need to put them on pause until a better time. For the retreat I will most likely never have the economy to travel for a retreat, so virtually is the one I can attend, which means I will bring all my projects but only work on 1-5 of them

Currently I have 62 active wips. half of those are full coverage. I intend to have at least 2 to 4 more finishes this year. @@craft_addictk How many wips are on vacation? I should work on finishing some of my older wips the rest of this year and maybe sort through my wips to see which need to go on vacation. I have a big birthday coming up next year and I'd like to do something for it (although I'd rather deny the number of the birthday). The thought of a bunch of new starts like Sewmesarah and Flossy Sews and Grows are doing this year is to overwhelming at the moment. But maybe a combination of new starts and finishes would work for me. I tend to start new things so I can do Sals with people, and work on wips that fit the prompts for Wip Warrior Road Trip and Scattergories. Glad you and your husband are enjoying your motorcycles, and that you are getting to spend more time with Rachel. Your painting projects were something I had never heard of anyone doing before. Good project that Rachel came up with. Probably one of the reasons that I have been so sick is that I am having recurrent sinus infections to the point that the ENT doc removed inspissated mucus and recommended surgery if the current steroids and compounded nasal antibiotic flush do not work. Guess somewhere along the line I developed a deviated septum which is causing issues. At this point, I am about ready to try anything though. Hope you have a fun month of June. Hi Karla! Glad to see you back for an update on all your stitching. You continue to amaze me with the number of stitches you complete, even when you have an off month. It seems like a lot of floss tubers have had some loss of stitching bug or else have been extremely busy. So happy that you found a motorcycle you are comfortable with so that you and your husband can enjoy new adventures. Is Rachel stationed closer to you now or is she out of the service now? How is Samantha doing? Busy being an adult I am sure. Loved seeing a picture of her at least. Love your Adventure Bookshelf. Yikes, over 6000 stitches is a lot for a frame! I would never be able to keep up, which is why I don't usually join structured SALs plus I don't generally tend to like mystery stitches. I like the color yellow that you are doing the Bridges piece in, makes them pop nicely. So many beautiful WIPs and wonderful progress. I really love Star Gazer and can understand why your husband wants it completed within his life time. It is phenomenal. The constellations are really popping. I have been sick since February, first with Mycoplasma pneumonia, then had bronchitis, and then a sinus infection; was on 3 courses of different antibiotics for 10 days, ended up having a CT of the sinuses which showed a sinus infection and a deviated septum (previously not known about) so have to see an ENT in June to see if the deviation is blocking drainage. Walter is growing like a weed, too smart for his own good, and definitely in the terror 3s stage. Allergy season has been horrid here in Texas, everyone is complaining about it, and it sounds like it is pretty much the same all over the country. I recently went back to working on one of my full coverage pieces and another larger one by The Cross Stitch Studio since I was able to load them into Pattern Keeper, what a difference it has made. I do both full coverage and others. What matters more to me is the realism on major pieces. Congrats to Rachel on her baptism and first communion. Did Sam get her hair cut or was it just pulled up in the picture? I know you have done a fabric dive before but also know you have a lot of new fabric so would love to see a fabric dive video. I would also like to see some progress pictures of your stitches thrown in with your family pictures at the end. Have a wonderful spring and into summer, enjoy the new motorcycle. Take care. Dawn.. so sorry to hear you have been ill. I am sure your little Walter is keeping you very busy but definitely get your rest and fluids. The motorcycle adventure with my husband has been really great and soon we are leaving on a trip to Maine that we will camp and ride our motorcycles. People here complain about the allergies being so bad this year. I am wondering if masking during covid essentially made our bodies forget about all those other germies that are out there and that is why so many getting hit this time around with the sniffles and sneezes? Who knows.. Just a theory. Rachael lives in West Virginia so we do get to see her a bit more often, but she is still in the guard and actually at Drill this weekend. Samantha did get her hair cut! She likes it short.. She just took on a new job so we are hoping to see her more as well now that she will have weekends off. So wonderful to catch up with you! Hope you get to feeling better. I need to have both full coverage and non full coverage! I am also a process stitcher. I am enjoying Grace Notes Fabric games!

Vickie the Grace Notes family are top notch great folks! we forged our friendship thru our videos. One of our daughters is the same age and graduated high school same day. Love supporting them! I am so happy to hear from other process stitchers! I am usually considered crazy by my family with so many WIPS on the go.. but I love the process of stitching and helps me relax at the end of my day.

Nice to see you again. Great progress and I like to hear about your life and see the pictures. Are you still participating in the Road Trip or Wip Warriors? Take care.

Hi I missed doing the videos just couldn't get a good workable time. Unfortunately I opted to drop the WIP Warrior and Road Trip group and focus on some of my other challenge groups and take it easy this year.. "so to speak"... lol. Happy you are enjoying my journey! You are part of it as well! See you soon on my next video! Happy Stitching

What a great system! Have you made any adjustments or refinements in the past 4 years? EDIT: Found your "evolving" video from 3 years ago and will be watching soon! My DMC is about half bobbinated, which I hate now that I've discovered floss drops. But the rest of it is in a series of numbered ziplock sandwich bags (100s, 200s, etc.) while I try to figure out my master plan. Your system is very similar to a commercial product I've seen that has customized acrylic drops and is way over my budget.

Hi! I did finally bite the bullet and went with the Annie’s keepers… but honestly I used this system with floss drops for over a year to be sure it worked for me.. then I moved to Annie’s keepers
