  Not sure if you notice, there's another Sanskrit-origin word used in that song. "Bathala", we use it to refer to a God or creator, but it's originally "bathara" (if Im not sure if the spelling is correct) which means "lord"

  Nice one, thanks! This is a funny music video and I really like it a lot. It features several items you will need to know like the neckbrace which is a tribute to X-Japan's Yoshiki Hayashi. Also the coffin and the amps at the back, that they actually used as props on their very first solo show back in 2012. 😁 🤘🦊

  Great reaction.🤘🦊I'm glad you will watch a live version as well (live at Legend 1997 - Su-metal's 16th birthday concert in Dec 2013 posted by abr metal is a good one). 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but 15 is significant in Japan as compulsory education also ends, so the girl is realising life will never be the same. She is having to grow up, she will no longer be considered just a child and her first 15 years passed so quickly, so she etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. The neck brace is an homage to X Japan's founder, drummer, pianist and main composer Yoshiki who needed surgery after damaging his neck headbanging. BABYMETAL have used the neck brace a lot in their lore - they've even had at least 4 concerts where everybody in the audience had to wear one: - first time was for the official release of the single early in 2012, their first solo concerts at the Rock May Kan in Tokyo (capacity about 150); - next was Red Night at the Budokan in Tokyo (capacity about 12-15,000 I think) on 1st March 2014 as they released the first album - next two times - both nights at the Tokyo Dome (capacity 55,000) in 2016 where they played a completely different set each night - all the songs from the first two albums. There are other versions of 'Headbanger' from special occasions as well. The Legend D concert in December 2012 for Su-metal's own 15th birthday and the Legend 1997 concert in December 2013 celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday both started with a (very obviously and deliberately lip-synced) dance remix version ('Headbanger - Night of 15 Re-Mix'). At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' half way through when Su handed them the mic and stand - she took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those performances. The same thing happened in 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday (20 is (or was) the official age of majority in Japan). Moa once again took over lead vocals after Su handed her the mic and stand - and the lyrics were changed to "...this special night of my 20th...". Most recently in March this year at the Legend MM concerts celebrating Momometal's 21st birthday we got her version on the day before her 21st (she was not an official member the year before so she did it to mark the last day when she was still 20).

  Why not? It’s a great music video, and the live versions make more sense if you’ve seen the music video first. That’s also true for Megitsune, Doki Doki Morning, etc.

  Welcome back to Babymetal! This MV was their very first song, released in 2011 and they were ~13/12 here. Their “child-like” adorableness was kicking strong for their first album. And today, they’ve traded that in for a grown-up sassy attitude, yet still adorable now that they are in their mid-20s! Also, FYI: Before 2018, 3rd member was Yuimetal. She left in 2018 due to health. Momometal supported since 2019, and became official new 3rd member in Apr 2023. If you want to explore their catalogue chronologically in order of albums , then here’s a few suggestions: *Headbanger:* A quintessential classic Babymetal song. Do the MV, then the live from Legend 1997 show. *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* The ultimate dichotomy of cuteness and brutality. *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal’s solo, and a “love ballad”….   Good one, thanks! Don't worry, you still have time to become a "fanboy", haha... I'm a lifelong metalhead, old-school and I only discovered them like five years ago. I became a die-hard fan in no time. "DDM" was their first song and first single and this is their first music video. It's included in their self-titled first album (2014) and also in "Sakura Gakuin 2010 - Message" from 2011 (SG's first annual album). Sakura Gakuin is the idol group where they originated. Not sure if you are familiar with their history.

  Welcome back, great reaction.🦊 You found their very first song - yes it was on the first album, but this was recorded late October 2010, over 3 years before the album was released (February 2014). The video was made around August 2011 on a shoestring budget - Su was 13, Yui and Moa just turned 12. This was how it all started with the fusion of metal with the J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics. They had virtually no budget, they were in their own and some borrowed clothes, the Babybones skeleton suits were black onesies with white tape stuck on. The girls were very pleased with themselves - they taught the choreo to the Babybones guys so they could dance along with them in the video. You were right about doki doki being the fast heartbeat. The song is about a girl waking up late and rushing to get ready for an exciting day at school with all her friends. The second song they performed live was 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' but that was not released as a single until after another two or three songs. The second song they released was 'Iine' (that is iine pronounced ee-neh, not Line). That one has some surprises - the official video is another good one.

They already finished the Europe Tour making everyone rocking out with their new songs such RATATATA along with Electric Callboy, and classic hits. Doki Doki MORNING is where everything started, they got 11 and 12 yo when the group was created in 2010 with this song but the official MV (Edit version) was released a year later. The girls look so young i myself was thinking they got less than 10 yo when I met them with this song around that time. The backing band you saw here are hired actors called "baby-bones", you'll see them performing live during early shows until 2014, after that Kami Band took their places as a real band on stage. They're singing about waking up and going to school while worrying about make-up and usual girl stuff, this a metal song after all 🤘 There's an Air Dance version of this, with the girls dancing in front of the camera in this same room. There's also a funny commentary vid made by the girls telling us more details about the backstage on this song. You can enjoy the live version of this with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 and after Budokan 2014, they also performed this at Budokan 2021 celebrating their 10 years and even more recently they introduced the Metalverse era with this song performing and introducing some big surprise, you can find this clip live at Makuhari Messe 2023 at NLMetal.
