All eating disorders are deep seated psychological issues (there's a reason there are MANY co-morbidities) and that it's an obsession with low weight and appearance is a unhelpful stereotype/trope. Most people with eating disorders are in fact overwight. Binge eating disorder is FAR more common then anorexia and most bulimics are a normal weight or slightly overweight (its a largwly invisible illness)
I’ve had ARFID basically since birth. Tried everything from hypnosis, to CBT. Recovery is difficult itself let alone when no GPs know what the diagnosis is, nor therapists know how to treat and help you. I’m so glad this is getting more awareness, makes me feel so seen. Thank you to those who are helping to make a difference and speaking out on their own experiences ❤

suffered from ARFID since I've been 7 years old (now 45). Great to get more awareness in public domain. ARFID as an eating disorder has no support by our local NHS and Primary Care Trust. I had to seek private help in the end. Been through the full experience of arfid ruining personal life, socialising, work and career opportunities.

Why doesn’t seed help those who don’t have Anorexia? I got told I wasn’t ‘sick’ enough by seed even though I have BED and going through Bulimia 😮 Luckily I’m with Evolve now (I seeked out Seed first as I didn’t want go to my gp but had no choice) ..I am glad you’re doing better 🤍

I’ve had bulimia for 27 years. I waited for treatment for year and a half on NHS. I got my treatment in Jan this year. Treatment only consists of 8 sessions, 30 min each. For bulimia it is outpatient only. So many of us are dying but society seems to abandon us and I was told that there is only Self Help programme for bulimics which you do through the book. I am losing faith and hope that I will ever get well.

HII 👋🏻 Thanks for this video, I agree with you 100% I currently have BED and Bulimia and my weight varies from being underweight to overweight and the comments I get at all stages of my ED is shocking! Another thing is I wish people would stop commenting on what I'm eating/not eating ..ugh I feel your frustration and give you a big HUG 🤗 I will say you are absolutely beautiful inside and out and you make me proud to be from Hull 🥰
