Fully committing to absolute honesty is a tough but necessary endeavor. Because I told myself pornography is normal for so long, I never considered it a problem. Well it is a problem. I was/am addicted. Another lie is that pornography is a victimless crime. Like you said there is sex-trafficking and sex slaves may be in pornography. If you watch it you are supporting this unethical business. That no longer agrees with my value system.

Life is full of uncomfortable situations and suffering so I better get used to it, and in fact try to grow from sitting with and dealing with suffering efficiently. Like you say, it's important to move on afterwards. So many people get stuck, their problems become their identity, and everyday becomes like groundhog Day. They become the perpetual victim. We must become victors, help others who are or were in our situation, but also discover new positive endeavors in life!

Running from pain and seeking pleasure often only lead to more pain and less pleasure in the long run. I've got to get better at sitting with pain not running from it. Our perceptions and how we deal with painful situations can either diminish or magnify suffering. In the past I turned to porn because of the anxiety that accompanied forming real relationships with actual human beings. Plus, pornography was just an escape from everyday life. It was an escape from the routine and boredom of jobs, school, just a vicarious excuse to avoid living.

I love number 7. Gratitude, appreciation and feeling like what we already have is enough, contentment. Don't wait for tomorrow, some far off time and place to be happy, content and grateful, be grateful now!

"You are the average of the people that you spend the most time with." Super important quote. We are "picking up on their habits, their behaviors and their mindsets." And this is whether you want it not. Find people who "support you in your goals and hold you accountable." And they are willing to call you out on your bullshit and hold me to a higher standard!!!!!!

  • @johnsander7164

The mind is definitely like an operating system. A buggy one like you said. We do have control over the types of programs we run on that software, our minds, positive or negative. We have to re-program our minds with positive self-talk and good habits!

Letting go, shedding the toxicity in our life is definitely important. I will look at my life and decide what habits are serving me and what aren't. Friends that are no longer conducive to personal growth, toxic pornography, junk foods that cause disease and make my mind foggy, negative judgmental thinking, behavior that is not goal-oriented etc. ALL must go! It's hard because even though they are toxic, I grow comfortable with them. Embrace the unknown and discomfort.

"Start with the end in mind." Great quote. No matter what I do in life I am taking a path or trail. Where is this is path or trail leading me? Am I blindly and aimlessly meandering around? By Having a goal, a purpose, an endpoint in mind, I can purposely create a path that will lead me in that direction.

A teacher is there to give you a new perspective on something and to challenge your ways and beliefs. Soul teachers "rattle our cages, they make us uneasy, they confiscate our sedatives." A good teacher will help you wake up to your reality rather than numb out to it. I love the advice that we should find a teacher who helps us awaken to our own internal wisdom. A good teacher will help us become our own teachers. To cultivate our own inner teach our own inner wisdom. So often I look outside myself and to others for answers, which is fine sometimes, but I need to find answers and solutions internally. When that happens I guess knowledge becomes wisdom.

Excellent video, thank you so much Jeremy! Hopefully this video will start a conversation on here between viewers. I love the advice if I am doing something and it's not working, stop doing it. It's common sense but sometimes common sense isn't so obvious. Sometimes we get on a path, like porn addiction, and although it the behavior is not a good path to be on, it's an addiction, a dopamine and opioid rush, and it's hard to stop. Plus the excuses I told myself, I'm stressed, I'm happy, It's Saturday etc. Checking in with oneself is definitely crucial. Am I happy? Is what I am doing making me happy and will it ever? Societal or familial expectations definitely play a role in our decisions. Am I doing something because it will bring me true fulfillment and happiness, or am I doing something because I think it is what is expected? I've really never thought about "what is my strategy for happiness?" I do so many things that involve tremendous mental effort, but how they make me feel and the reasons why I do them remain unconscious.

exactly.. sometimes we need to stop and have a real honest look at the way we're living and examine the things we think are going to bring us happiness, and whether it's actually working

I am hopelessly hooked on fap and can't. I have done it for years. I actually don't have a problem having good sex with my wife. I just get irritated with myself as I do it like 4 to 5 times a day and then have sex with my wife at night. The porn makes me carry out the f----ing with my wife.

Just another point of view, Maybe x the willing to be connected with a path' not just behind the willing to stop addication. Maybe thats what urge it from the first place. Maybe bacause that willing and the lake of being it. We compansate us, to be "in touch with our self" with addiction

Hi, stumbled on the KZread chanel. A few Questions. 1. What roll does masturbation play in your life now? Weekly or? 2. I do enjoy masturbation, without porn. Do you think making use of lubricant and a male masturbater is beneficial? I use both. I'm circumcised so it's recommended to use lubricant. Thanks for the Honesty and videos.

I am over 3 years free from porn. I pretty much quit cold turkey after my infidelity came to light. I used to watch porn a lot and started looking and watching when I was about 12 years old. And started masturbating at that time as well. Since I broke free from porn, I stopped masturbating as well. My wife views masturbating as a betrayal and a form of sex addiction. She says it takes away from her and our connection with each other. There are times when I feel like it could benefit me to help me relax and release some stress from within.

I think psychedelics are certainly in a different camp than, for instance, alcohol and marijuana (which I think both certainly cloud the mind). I also think that there should be a distinction between traditional psychedelics administered in a ritual setting, and the hundreds or thousands of "new" psychedelics and research chemicals that are almost exclusively used in purely recreational settings, which I don't think are, in general, contributing to the well-being or mental clarity of the users.
