In 2022, Mirka unveiled her debut album, "Malbum," under the esteemed Slovak label Hevhetia. This groundbreaking work, crafted using a loop station, serves as a testament to her exploration of authenticity and self-expression through music. As a member of the ensemble HLASkontraBAS Oktet, Mirka embarked on an artistic journey to Iceland, supported by the EEA and Norway Grants, and recorded another album Kaleidoscapes (Animal Music label).

We dropped in on Reduta Jazz club in Praha last Thursday where we got to hear Mirka Novak and her Dream Quartet. A great gig - ending with a fantastic version of Corea’s ‘Spain’. She also sang and scatted this ‘Mean to me’ together with Roman Hasnedl. Thank you for a great concert - enjoyed every second of it.
