  Great video, thank you. For some reason, I pull the hand brake handle and the cable goes tight, however the hand brake lever inside the drum doesn't move. I will remove the cable and see if it is caught on anything. If this table and tube is anything like heater cables, I might tie some string around the end of the hand brake cable and pull that through when I remove the hand brake cable. That will make pulling it back through easier.

  Thank you for your kind commment. You might want to check the bar where the cable splits into 2. Make sure that both cables are being pulled evenly.

  Hi, the lighting set I used for this doesn't seem to be for sale anymore. I will be getting the T2 model shortly and will have to get a lighting kit. The last couple of kits I have used on different models were from light my bricks. They are expensive but a nice quality kit. I will be putting a video up when I do, so keep a look out for it if your still interested.

  Any tips for getting the new curved filler hose onto the fuel filler pipe. Struggling to slide my new pipe onto it. Was going to try dipping the end in hot water to try and expand it but don't want to damage a new pipe ?

  I can't remember for sure but I think I remember doing as you mentioned using hot water just enough to soften it a bit to enable it to go on easier.

  Hi, the eBay seller doesn't exist anymore. His Ebay username is in the video comments. It was just in a brown box with the wire in individual bags. These were not Lightailing kits. On my latest video (The Lego Defender) I have gone for the Lightailing option. Looks a pretty good kit.

  light my bricks products are far too expensive! costs more than the actual lego set and dnan is not even a manual in paper form or a battery box which you then have to buy again at a high price! my sets came with the content heard! and they delete all negative comments, so the 10tsd likes only have few comments! absolutely incapable of criticism! I would not buy a second time there!

  Hi Robert, my kit was from a UK eBay seller. I can't remember how much I paid at the time but it was more like £25 and came with a printed manual. He is no longer on ebay though and I'm guessing he wasn't making enough profit on them. As you say the light my bricks one's are very expensive. The last one I bought was from Lightailing, still expensive but not as bad as the others.

  Hi Kai, I masked out the windows and sprayed the inside white. Then I applied all decals to the outside. I got the decals from Ebay.

  Well of course you have to get the power supply somehow, you could hypothetically get a very small portable charger and plug it that way and stick it under the car or in it’s front trunk or interior somehow

  Hi , I’m a bit new to the “ T2 “ scene I’ve just recently bought my first T2 😁. I have a lot of things to do on it , one of them being getting the fuel gauge sorted . Now from doing a quick search it seems the senders are normally faulty . I was wondering once the firewall is removed can the sender be taken out without taking tank out ? I see some people cut a inspection hole on top ? Any advice would be helpful 🙏🏼🙏🏼 mine is a 1979 2 litre air cooled apparently a pancake engine 🤷🏼‍♂️

  Hi, no, you would have to get the tank out completely to reach the sender. It was one of the first jobs I did on mine and I used the inspection hole method. If you get the measurements of the web of where to cut, it's not to difficult. I'm not sure, but I think it's easier to get the tank out with a pancake engine than a Type 1 like mine. Personally I would aim to get the tank out and replace the breather hoses which come off the top of the tank. Also the filler hose depending on the condition. The breather hoses always deteriate and can leave you with a strong fuel smell in the back and can also leak fuel sometimes, if filled right up. This is all taking it that the tank is the same style as mine on my 73, I'm not sure if the 79 would be different. I also have a video 'VW T2 Late Bay Camper Fuel Tank Removal' which might help you. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions just ask.

  T2BusCrazy hi 👋 this more than helps . Thank you so much for taking the time to reply . I think I will go down the route of getting a inspection hole put in first ( the van is going in for some major welding work , so will get them to do it while it’s there ) I suppose I need to work out where they need to cut to put the inspection hole 🤔 also my firewall is grey and a different colour to the rest of the engine bay . Also the screws don’t look that old . Maybe someone had had it off and done some work ? I don’t want to get into the expense of taking all the tank out just yet . I’m thinking change the sender see how it goes

  @@T2BusCrazy which kit did you use? I got an ebay kit and when it arrived it had lightailing instructions and a lightailing part number. The kit costed me 15$ CAD which is about 11-12 USD and the quality is pretty good

  Hi, I got this from an ebay seller Wizzkid64 but it looks like he has stopped selling them, because he does not have any products for sale on there. I have seen them on AliExpress, not sure what the quality of the kit is like though. Might be worth a try.
