My wife was diagnosed in October, and she has three rounds of chemotherapy. She has Flt3 mutation aml, the hospitals told us they can't treat her anymore to chemotherapy sessions, we have been together for 14 years, and we dont have any more options.

My girlfriend was diagnosed with aml last year in October. She is going through it right now with the radiation. She had three to 4 chemotherapies before the chemo. I just want her to be better, that's all😢😢😢. It hurts me to see her in this state.

I lost my mother last year on 15th November 2023. This disease is not curable we tried our best but she did not survive long. I lost my whole world. When it relapsed it is more deadly. She was caught by infestion and till her last breath her infection was not cured. And then my beloved mother left us. I wish and I will pray that in future no one should die from this deadleast disease I wish there should be permenant cure for this lethal disease.

God's mercy upon all, I was diagnosed Christmas weekend 2022(56 years old), was feeling sick several months prior. Was transported 125 miles to the Cleveland Clinic-My endless love and thanks to all in G111(Leukemia ward). Spent the month of January(2023) doing 7+3 chemo routine, had to return for 4 consolidation chemo stays on average of 6-7 days each Feb, March, April, and May. Fought many neutropenic fevers which required local hospitalizations and intense antibiotic treatment after each treatment. I obtained remission early (thank God) with no MRD. Although one mutation remained (dmnt3a) have been taking Onureg since June of 23 . I did not do BMT . This has been the toughest fight of my life, I am much better but things are not perfect-chronic fatigue, insomnia, nausea, and flu like symptoms on and off etc. Cannot return to full time work, the latest set back is with the State of Ohio that refuses to approve my disability claim. My everlasting thanks to Dr. Ali and Dr. Molina and many others from Cleveland Clinic I LOVE YOU ALL! And above all I thank God and the many prayers of the faithful that have sustained me. PTL always!

Companies & doctors love AML. Money into the bank. It's all about the money! They will take as much money for you & then you most likely goin to die. Stop supporting them & go out to enjoy what little time you have. My aunt had AML & always sick from all hospital visits. So my uncle signed those papers so they can not be sued. Sold everything & moved into Asian mountain without using USA's treatments & meds. She lived for 26 years

On august 2019 at the age of 59 i was diagnose with AML. Go for chemo 24/7 for 6 days. Got infected. Intubated in ICU for 13 days. Get through but bed ridden and got myself blacken left thumb. I find out i could no longer tolerate the modern medicine. Discharge myself after signing all the documents. I turn to hemeopathy. Physiotheraphy. Eats a lot of king's salad from my garden. I also take supplement aphanizomenon flos-aquae a type of algae found in Greats lakes. Remission is always on the back of my mind

If you had an AML patient with mutations IDH2, SF3B1, ASXL1, NPM1 and a history of heart disease would you choose low intensity chemo with a menin inhibitor or high intensity chemo with a menin inhibitor?

Is there a subtype TP49 of AML? I may be mistaken on the number. My nephew age 51, said it is rare. He has been given 6 months to 1 year to live. I appreciate any clarification you can give to me. I will try to verify the number. We are heart broken. I pray that he will find his way to any help that is out there!🙏🏻. Thank you!

Hi Marci, I am so sorry to hear about your nephew! I have not heard of a TP49 subtype, but perhaps you mean the mutation TP53? If so, here are some resources from our website that talk about TP53 in AML: healthtree.org/aml/search?term=tp53 . There is a good in-depth podcast episode about TP53 here: healthtree.org/aml/community/podcasts/digging-deeper-into-the-tp53-mutation-in-aml-with-rory-shallis-md-yale-new-haven-hospital. 18 month survival rate for AML with chemo treatments is just prolonging my suffering! So then --why even bother going through all the chemo treatments when they can't guarantee that I'll still be alive in 15-18 months? I might as well just live my life the best way I can until this blood cancer finishes me off in another year. 😢
