In our eyes as a Parra fan, He was a great player. It was sad to see him go down. Hope he is in a better place. May God bless him. Don't doubt yourself Reni.

Dan, you gotta sort out that mike of yours. When you lean back I can hardly hear you. When you lean forward it distorts! Find out what model and settings Scott uses (or just sit in one place !) As for the actual content, well you and Scott both nailed it. Sharks looked complacent and Nicho looked injured/out of sorts. Penrith looked focused. Result was a bloodbath. I hope that Coach Fitgibbon sat them all down afterwards and said to them: "Tell me - what did you _personally_ do wrong, and how are you _personally_ going to address that next week?"

The first thing that Parra needs to do is to get a new CEO, for lying to the coach ("full support"), and for not going after Bennett before JasonD was sacked. Once he was gone, there was no chance that Bennett would go to anywhere but Souths. The second thing is to concede to the new coach that _he_ will have the final say on which players are moved on and who gets recruited. Recruitment/Retention by committee is a dumb idea. Actual coach. - Mick Potter. Born in Parramatta. Has been head coach at Catalans, St Helens and Bradford Bulls. Has since been an interim coach at Canterbury (replacing Trent Barratt !) where he did well.. - The Walker Brothers, from Ipswich. A real high-risk selection, but they might just be the out-of-the-box guys to turn the club round. - John Morris. Did well with Cronulla junior sides, as well as the post-Shane first team Any of those three candidates.

I tell you two names that _no-one_ is mentioning. Mal Meninga (who was being touted as the new Souths coach a month ago) and Brad Fittler. I'm not suggesting either of these guys, by the way.

    C. Watson, the in form utility the blues needed the last couple of years. He'll keep play moving as a bench dummy half but he can cover the halves and backline incase of injury. Fittler selections struggled to anticipate possible injury reshuffles but this guy specialises in hooker, five-eigth, lock and even fullback.

Why stop at 3? Why not 19? Sezers tackle wasn't a hip drop. He never sandwiched the players legs between himself and the ground. Here's the definition of a hip drop straight from the horses mouth. Andrew Abdo said, and i quote. "If you grip someone, and you place your bodyweight directly on their legs and they hit the ground and you sandwich their legs between your body weight and the ground" In Sezers case that didn't occur

On the subject of TPJ - and of other players who walk away from a contract to go and play Union, or to try out for the NFL. My approach - if I were Andrew Abdo - would be to say: "We can;t stop you walking away, but if you come back, the club you left will still retain your registration. You will have to renegotiate with them OR they can SELL your registration to another club for a transfer fee." The club that was deserted needs to get some compensation.

Penrith has such a huge base from which to recruit, it can always find all the players it wants - and as Terry said at 9:00, the Panthers can get them CHEAP. The Penrith club makes a profit, and there is no commercial or ethical reason for Panthers to receive money from the NRL or from other clubs.

  • @Leakynine

With the compensation was Ivan talking about the salary cap or the junior comps. As a club you spend a small fortune on juniors only to have another club swoop in at age 20 and take them . Money and time lost. Why cant a club that takes others juniors, give a percentage to the club that trained and paid for that players development. If he was talking salary cap then no.

He needs to pick a position. If he wants to play halves, train harder, drop weight and learn game management. Probably put away the no look pass until he's developed his ball playing role.

Gents: 1 Please get into the habit of testing the microphones before you start. This week's Terry's was fine, but Dan's sounded like it was lying on the floor under the desk. 2 Dale Finucane. The accepted view is that he played 33 games for the Sharks and never hit the heights he reached at the Storm, but he has been "great for the culture of the club". Exactly _what_ has he brought to change the culture? What was it before and what is it now ? What has he achieved that simply getting rid of the d**kheads like Josh Dugan and Bronson Xerri would not have achieved ? (I'm asking this question in the same week that Braydon Trindall has been stood down for driving under the influence of alcohol when he was already banned from driving). As an aside, maybe Dale could/should give Teddy a ring and ask him if he wants to meet up for a beer.... 3 Josh Schuster. I read in the papers that his "head is not right" because a really close mate of his at Manly DIED of heat exhaustion during a pre-season training session. If he has had a nervous breakdown because of that, then going to play for an NSW Cup team is not a realistic option. He needs to spend time with someone (like Dane Finucane?) who will talk to him like an uncle and help him recover and find some idea of what he wants to do with his life. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the drift of where I'm going with this. Maybe the best thing for him is to go and just hang-out and train with a completely new set of guys. He doesn't need to sign a contract if he is getting $200K a year from Manly. He doesn't need to experience pressure. He just needs to get back to feeling wanted and appreciated and supported _unconditionally_ . 4 ANZAC Day. Yes, two matches only: one with the NZ club - played in Auckland - and one with the two traditional Sydney clubs.

You're right gents. As Terry said, 16 clubs (17 if you include Manly) do not want him at $800K I can't see any club in the top eight wanting him for more than chump-change, with the possible exception of the Phins who failed to recruit anywhere near enough decent depth players before the start of the season. The next problem for Josh is that most clubs have filled their roster and spent up close to their cap. Even at $250K, I would be surprised if any of the remaining nine clubs is able to take him this year. So, his agent should be telling Josh that he needs to get his head sorted out, and start playing some decent NSW Cup games for the rest of the season. That way, someone might want to pick him up next year - as long as Manly throws in some freight.

Pretty awful take for Critta at the Dogs. If you'd looked past the team lists, you'd have known Critta shifted to centre before kickoff against the Storm and played left centre. I don't mean to be rude, but do your homework my guy.

Sailor should go to another Queensland team. While I like Horsburgh...he's probably better served coming off the bench with the Raiders starting back-row being Young, Whitehead & Mr. Smithies. Taaffe is better at fullback. Surely they will stick with Iro in the centres and Talakai coming off the bench? Brimson should be playing Fullback. Yes...Brooks has been solid enough and will only get better moving forward. Sure. Clearly not. He should stick with Cogger & Hastings until injury. Probably not. He'll probably end up in the UK Super League. They hopefully don't. I don't care. Zac Lomax is overrated. Who cares? He's leaving the code. Anyone who can stay on the field longer than 4 weeks for the Dolphins is a key player at this point. No.
