Cooking directions begin @2:12 . Thank you for this!
Thank you for this video, which covers all the aspects of cooking meat safely. Everyone should see it. Better that than a trip to hospital! Your video mentions the use of cooking thermometers. These are easy to get. Info on convenient foldable meat thermometers can be found at: www.amazon.com/Digital-Kitchen-Thermometer-Accurate-Versatile/dp/B01AVJWV10
It's ok. 😀
What about deep fry? Can put frozen in deep fry?
+Steven Scott No, a whole turkey should be completely thawed before deep fat frying.
O.k. ~ thank you.
Great Video clip! Do you use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of your meat? Last weekend, the hosts of a bbq I attended recommended I should buy a ‘Chef Remi Cooking Thermometer’ (I think he mentioned you can buy it online on amazon) as its very accurate and has a lifetime guarantee. I would appreciate your thoughts if you have used this model before?

Great video - what about mason glass jars? Is it safe to store it in the freezer, if so, how long? I have heard different information. Thanks
Our apologies for the late response. Although you may find information that says you can freeze in glass jars, like Mason jars, we would not recommend it because glass jars break easily at freezer temperatures due to the expansion of the liquid.
This is video is in American Sign Language with text captions provided.
@pappisaints It is sign language.
y no sound?
What are the signs for? Is it to emphasize on the information or is it sign language
I can't wait to see the data this will generate on imports.
Thanks for visiting the USDA Food Safety Channel. In response to your question: The food in the refrigerator and freezer should still be safe. The refrigerator will keep food safely cold for about 4 hours if it is unopened. A full freezer will hold the temperature for approximately 48 hours (24 hours if it is half full) if the door remains closed. In this situation the refrigerator had enough time in between power outages, to return to a safe temperature.
We lost power two nights in a row (and waiting for a third one at any time). The first night, the power was out for about two hours. The second night, for about an hour and 15 minutes. That said, how safe is the food in the fridges and freezers after two nights with no power for those times mentioned?
Doneness ?
thanks
You can activate captioning by clicking on the red "CC" on the lower right edge of the video screen.
Looks like a better system. Hopefully all the bugs will be worked out before I have to use it!
Interesting that this video does not have Closed Captioning when people are talking. There are voice-over interpretations when Deaf people are signing so that hearing people will know what they are signing. If Deaf people watch this video, they will not know what the hearing people are saying.
