Hi fishing fanatics!
I grew up fishing with my dad since I was a kid, then soon forgot about this hobby during my teens and early adulthood and it was only recently I've rediscovered this lost passion of mine. I try to fish as much as I can and document my journey along the way. I have many videos to share, so much my family are sick of watching them.
I would say I'm a fishing addict, enough said.
I have a few years of fishing experience offshore (no boat though), inshore, harbour and only recently I purchased my first kayak a Hobie Outback 2019.

😂 nice catch
Nice video mate. That swell looks fierce, do you take anything for seasickness when you go out?
Also what rod is that your useing
Storm Adajo AJS631-1. It's just a boat slow jigging rod
Another great session your mate in the native I see he's got boondox I've just got a set yet to put on the pa14 does he like them also do you have a moter on your rear yak and what battery do you guys use
I also have the boondox and loved it until the weight got too much and started to bulge underload. So I have retired it and now using the railblaza c-tug R. You probably don't want to hear this but I personally wouldn't use it, not unless you are really careful with how much weight is placed on it. I even created a larger custom backing plate to fit into the kayak to spread the load but even then it just couldn't handle it. So it was safer just to convert over to the c-tug r and not have any worries. Hobie really need to start innovating as the scupper carts were great at the time, now everyone carries a lot more gear and you'll see more scupper cracks in the forums. The horizontal bar on the ctug R does a great job in distributing the load. I have a torqeedo 403 electric motor which came with a large battery that will last all day if you don't go full throttle constantly. Expensive unit but I can't see myself fishing without it.
epic session legend, what were you using as bait?
mubarak mubarak mubarak....
Nice video Bradley, how do you strap your rods on a kayak, what leash do you use thanks
I use these straps share.temu.com/dsD3jjXGyIA
ALR thanks, but whee do you hook the clip onto the rod
@@srduckyoce1084ahh yes I use a thin Velcro strap prob about 1cm wide and wrap a stainless steel key ring around the rod. I make sure the Velcro isn’t on too tight to allow it to slide up and down the rod butt. Also make sure you have atleast one wrap around the rod before securing the key ring to avoid scratches.
Nice work mate! What assist hooks are you running on the 60g jig pls?
1/0 hooks
Nice. What was the swell height and sec apart ?
Unfortunately I won't be able to remember this! My guess less than 1m.
@@bradleyseeto allgood bro. Keen to give it a crack offshore that’s all haha
Nice video Bradley, what rod do you use with the certate?
It's a Storm Adajo PE1 slow jigging rod. It's an old model which isn't made anymore.
What a great time out there. Looks like fun. Do you catch live squid up there as well? And lures and jigs. Well done.
Yes squid can be caught, but not consistently
Were did you launch from what area is that what pound line are you useing there
oh wow please atleast take me out to dinner first! :)
@bradleyseeto ok dinner first then your secret spots haha
Nice catch bro.. are the kings around in the winter?
Wow. You are good at that. What’s your favourite weight and shape of jig? I can catch them on live squid but yet to find one to take my jig. I have tried squidtrex and a flutter jig. I also fish the eastern side of the spit bridge. Any help would be much appreciated from a master 🤙👊
Thanks but I wouldn't call myself good, just lucky sometimes. Firstly you need to find the fish on the sounder and they try various lures. For vertical jigging I'm just using a 150g lure and just pause every so often. They can be found sometimes hanging in shallow waters 12-15m so you don't need to jig that fast. If they don't take the vertical, I'll switch to slow jigs. When they are picky they'll only take live squid or cuttlefish.
Awesome. Do you come through the bridge sometimes or just stay on the up side ?😂
more wrecks to explore on the upside
Nope
Nice job 🍀😉👍
Thanks
should try using sliders one day - or baku baku , nice vid mate.
After several months of rewiring my Lowrance Hook2 Triple shot several times (electrics are not my forte) I gave up & took it into Whitworths in Lambton & found the unit had gone to heaven. I now have a working basic Lowrance FS 7" that I wired in myself & it & the transducer are working perfectly. I also made a DIY Transducer arm for the transducer because the hull cavity would not accept the larger transducer. Cost less than $40.00. I gave up on the Railblaza transducer arm ($61.00) which was far more trouble than it's worth. Corrosion was a chronic problem with my old ff but the new one has much better connections & caps. Yet to try it out. If you do not have corrosion issues check your power supply all the way through. If you don't find any problems, you can try having it tested. Hope your problem is not a major one. Thanks for sharing.
A few drops of water had made its way through the back of the HDS connector and corroded through some electronics. Sent it lowrance and they quoted me $903 for a new unit. I accepted the cost and when the new unit arrived the first thing I did was tighten the screws on all the back plugs. I now have a spare 3 in 1 transducer.
hey mate, nice vid. what rig do you use?
20lb double paternoster
hey buddy do you have a link where i can buy them straps that tie to your rods ;)
I get them from Temu. Just replace the metal crimp and use 2 cable ties to secure it, then an optional step is to put heat shrink over it. They are strong I’ve accidentally towed my net in the water for about 5mins and the cord will spring back to its original shape. share.temu.com/nKE4jT36AIA
Do you eat those fish?
At the end of the video which no one probably saw, I sashimi the fish, so yes I eat this fish.
thats ballyhoo 😂
But down under we call it garfish 😂
Swear you have to take me out sometimes for crab and hairtail!
One day mate but crabbing season is almost over! Hairtail is around the corner but not sure how productive it’ll be during the day in winter.
I was wondering how you were catching crabs on the hand line,Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome
Hey buddy why not just use a crab trap
In some systems crab traps aren’t allowed so they can only be line caught
@@bradleyseeto what system is this
@@enterthedragon5979 I need your promise not to tell anyone first! 😂 it’s ok no one reads the comments anyway, our secret will be safe for many years. Brisbane Water shhh 🤫
I reckon it might be better to use a circle hook to prevent it from getting snagged.
Circle hooks still have barbs on them
Great video Bradley love it ❤
Thanks
When are you opening your new restaurant?????😋👌🏼🍻
Lol probably never
How are Maori Wrasse for eating?
I think they are great, it's not a dry flesh when cooked but will require a bit of seasoning to bring out the flavour.
Taste like.... Wait for it.... Chicken. 🙌🏼💥
Haha Legen......Dary!
It’s an underrated fish, as is Tailor. Both great smoked too.
Agreed! It’s great to see more anglers now utilising these species
Is thay Michale Wong on the other side? Looks like his kayak. XD
I think it might be James, hard to tell. Either way don’t tell Michael cause when this KZread channel finally monetises in 10 years time I might have to pay him for appearance fees. 😂
@@bradleyseeto Bahahaha No worries. Just take me with you next time you go for a hair tail. XD
Thanks Bradley great effort 👌🏼.
You're welcome
Wow nice catch :)
Thanks for visiting
Today?
Nah when comes to video editing I’m very unmotivated and It’s a thankless task!
Good to see hairtails are in!
Have you been out for Hairtail at your usual lately????? Iv missed the last 2 seasons and I'd love to land a few this year.
@@fish04fun65 we will be heading out targeting hairtail soon. From April for sure 👍
@@JYLFishing Really? XD I though you were into Gof these days bro, LOL
I admire people going out far with just a kayak.
Thanks
We're do you launch from
North Harbour Sailing Club
Well done great catches
Thanks
Bloody rough as mate ! Did you feel safe out there
Yea it was a bit sloppy, but sometimes the horrible conditions produce the best fishing. I didn't feel unsafe, just uncomfortable as I was getting hit by waves in 2 directions and also waves from passing boats!
Do you use steel leader?
Yes I'm using a wire leader
@@bradleyseeto Just curiosity. I'm also use from time to time.
A lekker geelstert !!
big congrats bro! 🔥
Thanks
nice one!!! Captain Knotfishy hahah I can recognise his boat
Yea Captain Isaac's boat! 😊
Nice one! Always great to crack PB! On to breaking it again soon! Congrats!
Thanks
Good catch
Thanks
Nice catch, are you able to do a quick vid of your rig?
Its that simple I can describe it for you. Big hook with a non running sinker setup, wrap bait in a net to prevent an all you can eat buffet.
Was fish bled straight after catch?
Absolutely it was, ikejime first and then bleed by snipping the front of the gills, I try avoid cutting anywhere near the heart as you want that to keep pumping as much blood out as possible. Mac tuna is the bloodiest fish of them all.
Ballyhoo. Use whole as bait for a fish worth eating.
Yes we use them whole to target Yellow tail kingfish and other topwater predators
What is the dressing on the finished dish, would you share the recipe? Im keen to try sashimi style this season. I'm also going to dry-brine for 20 or 30min to see if it helps firm up the flesh. Don't worry about the haters hiding behind their keyboards giving stick about filleting etc - they aint got a video up showcasing their mad skills......and you clearly state that like most of us viewing this, we're just amature fisho's having a go and doing our best.
Thanks for the positive comments. Yes alot people do get upset when something is done differently or if you use scissors for example! As requested I have added the ceviche recipe in the video description. Adjust ingredients to your liking hope you like it.
That's awesome 👌🏼 👏 👍 🍻
Thanks 👍
Please post a rig setup 😢
@@thomxs412 sure I will
