*I will like to share something with you all. I run a business as a carpenter for different people doing all sorts of things like doors, but I must say building my boat with the help of “my boat plan” gives me such happiness!!! I also have lots [Check Details Here==>**plus.google.com/100351090281822647456/posts/hK7aRTL53E4** ] of other hobbies but working on the boat gives me a thrill. Thanks to them.*

what is the steel plate thickness did you use? appreciate some tips as I am debating between steel and GRP
@janjar417 жыл бұрын
I have used steel plate thickness of 3 mm. The most important is the yacht hull. All would change: sails, ropes, mooring lines, mast, boom, blocks, furlers, winches, hatches, windows, steering, tanks. Everything can be replaced only doesn't the hull. Steel hull is stronger, more durable than the GRP. For amatour it is easier to build better steel boat than GRP boat.

Dear Keimo2007, I put glass-polyester laminate and yellow topcoat in the lower part of hull on foam insulation. Yes, you can put something else, e.g. on the foam you can put waterproof plywood.

what was that yellow mat / stuff you put over insulating foam (lower parts of hull), did you put something else also under that, between foam and that yellow stuff. thanks!

To build a steel boat is needed: welder or welding migmag, an angle grinder, etc. I cuted metal by grinder. Yachts made by other materials than steel may also be made without keel. Thank you for your interest
