I'm avoiding carbs like bread as I am celiac tho I eat coconut oil with eggs in the morning as they are filling and the coconut oil reduces my appetite so I have sardines for lunch and a fresh...slighty soft avoado for dinner and some greens as a snack.

I just bought his book. I never count calories. I eat as much as I feel like eating and never restrict intake. Eggs, bacon, fatty meat, avocado, yoghurt, nuts, cheese. Since starting to eat this way I am no longer overweight and have more muscle.

For me the recipe for success is simple. No bread, (meaning grains) no sugar, no starch. I live the LCHF lifestyle that Dr. Eenfeldt first preached back in 2016. I consider my diet to be decadent. I eat bacon and eggs, ribeye steaks, high fat hamburger, pork chops, chicken with the skin on it, vegetables smothered in grass fed butter, heavy creams, aged and hard cheeses, high fat whole milk yogurts and cottage cheeses, and things like these. How many diets can you have everything dripping in butter and cheese and still average a 10 lb. weight loss each month. And it's fat loss, not muscle loss. I don't exercise or do anything different except what I allow to pass through my lips. And a lot of fatty foods pass in believe me. My muscles are now exposed and my veins bulge. I get leaner and leaner every day. I am so satiated my food bill has dramatically reduced. I eat 1 to 2 meals a day and am never hungry, nor do I have cravings. Fat is very satiating as long as you keep bread, sugar, and starch out of your life. It's just all so simple. I don't understand why people make it so complicated. I lost 75 lbs. in 8 months and keep it off easily. I am at my correct weight now and I don't have to worry about getting too skinny because now that I am eating the way we were designed to eat, my body just takes care of the rest and simply maintains itself naturally. I got the Hava App when it was first released and was recording my daily intake, but every time I added foods high in fat my satiety score would go down. If I replaced it with a leaner version of the same food the score would go up. I knew that was wrong so I quit using it. There's something wrong with the algorithm because it's not considering the fact that I don't consume breads, sugars, or starches, so my satiety score should have been going up, not down. I found the score penalty for eating high fat foods frustrating and decided to just do what I know is right instead of letting it try to influence me in the wrong direction. Somebody needs to adjust the algorithm to reflect correct satiety levels when bread, sugar, and starch are not a part of the picture. Maybe then I'll start using it again.

Prof Noakes deserves our gratitude. The behavior of the dietetics lobby who sensed their meal ticket was about to be challenged by actual science , and threw the proverbial hissy fit, needs to be called out for what it is. Shameful trade protection and libel. How many of the dietetics ppl have financial links to processed food companies?

As a home health nurse for 40 years, like a good nurse I taught my patients the ADA diet....and NO ONE GOT BETTER....1 year ago it was my turn to be sick as an emergently diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis....A1C of 10.9....4 days in ICU later I was discharged with a RX for insulin along with an appt toy PCP for 5 days later....I tried adsptingbto the ADA diet but i could not get my BG down to <140....that's when i started reading about intermittent fasting and low carb diet and I started my journey to wellness....Today 11 months later my A1C is normal @5.3...cholesterol down to 188 from 246, triglycerides down from 342 to 73....my CKD stage 3 markers are normal and my average BG runs 80-95 fasting and 110-120 1 hr post meal....I believe this constitutes a reversal of diabetes...oh I forgot one piece of the puzzle, I took myself off insulin....3 weeks ago....yahoo!!!!

I went on the world health organization website. The most they can say is that red meat “probably” unhealthy… are you fucking kidding me? We give you guys billions of dollars every year since the late 1980s it’s been pushed on us that red meat is bad for us. and all you can actually give us is a maybe.

Do we need carbohydrates 🤔 ... are you 18 or 68 . Are you tall and big mesomorph or skinny 🤔 Ectomorph . What about Genetics. What are your stress levels ( financial, relationship , divorce etc ) are you in highly active employment or a Desk job 🤔 what is your medical history...its important to mention all these factors when giving dietary advice 😊

Hello Dr Bret. Thank you for all of your videos, and your involvement in the low carb community. I have just finished my treatment for brain cancer - grade 4 astrocytoma. I’ve documented my journey, the highs and lows, on my KZread channel. It’s scan to scan for me from now on. They can never tell me I’m cured, but I’m aiming for NEDS, as they say in the metabolic approach to cancer space. I’ve been doing a low carb keto diet since diagnosis, and will continue that lifestyle indefinitely. If it counts for anything, I feel fantastic. You are a voice of reason on the internet, so thank you!

Sums it up nicely! Sadly, anything sweet triggers me to want more. No berries for me. 1/3 oz of dark chocolate is just enough to make me mad! I would like to see a warning of oxalate content mentioned whenever almonds and chocolate ( and spinach) are recommended. I had decades of fibromyalgia and bladder pain as I ate a lot of almond products, dark chocolate, sweet potatoes, and black tea. Now I have none.
