  Just finishing Sing Her Down. It's been on EVERYBODY's Top Ten crime novel lists for this year. She can definitely write, but I don't like it as much as everybody else did. That said, I didn't launch it into the trash -- something I'm often inclined to do with crime fiction written by women. (I think they're generally aimed at women.) But I am inclined to read her earlier books. That's a good sign. That first novel really sounds appealing to me.
